I'm having to cut back on cannabis consumption so I'm in need of some alternatives to prescriptions.

Are there any herbs that would help with nausea? Pain relief?
Insomnia?

Obviously I don't want to smoke anything, vaporizing would be the best route, but if tea works better, let me know! Thanks!

Melatonin will only help you if your insomnia is related to a melatonin deficit (on a related topic, UV light sources can effect melatonin levels in your body, don't sleep around UV light!). Unfortunately, you are going to have an awful time with sleeping meds. Just bite the bullet and use cannabis for sleep. I have been through benzos, 'natural' alternatives, doxylamine, seroquel and many others. Doxylamine can be helpful for mild insomnia, and has very few crappy side effects. The rest (except for natural alternatives, which just flat out didn't work lol) have side effects which are far more debilitating than being utterly stoned all day (at least for me anyway).

I always thought medical cannabis was in part a bit of a crackpot idea until I suffered from persistent, extreme insomnia for years on end and found how much better cannabis concentrates are than ANYTHING I HAVE EVER TRIED (a lot) for successfully destroying insomnia.

Vaping mint can settle the stomach. Chamomile tea is pretty mellow around bedtime. Vaping hops can be relaxing. Look for a book about herbs that grow naturally in your locale. I've scored some good stuff like yarrow that way, and it's free and the way nature intended.

I love lots of herbs . . . I think a great insomnia cure is hops tincture . . . put a few drops (start small it is suuuper bitter!) in a mug of hot water into which you have dissolved some calcium-magnesium powder (I like a brand called A-B Calm: http://www.amazon.com/Calm-Calcium-Magnesium-Drink-Ounce/dp/B000MZ8L0Y)

The cal-mag will relax your muscles and the hops will lure you off to sleep . . .

Ginger in capsule form works extremely well for my nausea. Have you tried Kratom for pain?
