Hey guys so first off, I know about mj... But am useless when it comes to this new fangled electricity thing.

I bought the omicron off the mod auction and it just got here today. Unfortunately I won't have oil till this weekend though.

It was shipped with (2) 2.4 ohm carts and I now just realized that they are one time fill only. And since I'm always into upgrading my gear I was looking into the alternative carts and batteries and stuff. But none of it has a very good description of how it's actually different.

Can the sr-71 be used with the omicron or do you need a Persei for all that stuff?

Trying to figure out the difference between the hammer, Hercules, sr-74, sr-71, hvd kit,:doh:

And I read the 2 small batteries make it run at 7.4v... What the hell does that change haha

Really just looking for something I can load ~1g in and go, but hopefully not have to continue buying carts... Please help me spend my money wisely as I have very little of it lol

Thanks everyone I know it's a lot of questions, and I swear I've been searching all night and still don't get any of this shit

:peace:

Haha good man, I'm not at home so I'm on my phone as well. This is a tiny ass screen to attempt to figure this out, so far I've failed...

Even though the carts say they are one time use, they really aren't. I have been using the same cart for months now (backup for my cera so no where near daily) and have probably run about 3-4 grams through it total so they aren't quite as disposable as they say they are. For your other questions though,I have no idea sorry.

Thanks clouded, that's actually really good to know. I can go through 2-3 grams a week so buying all those carts didn't sound good

No worries, I'll just figure it out as I go. Feel free to delete this one mods.

The W9 site no offense to them does not have the best descriptions. Everything is "the best innovation yet" which it very well could be... But still doesn't explain the difference between any of their tops. It says nothing about their functions. Although the link to instructions did answer my volt/ohm questions so thank you for that.

Been searching that thread all night on my phone, and didn't answer much for me. Maybe I'm just dumb or missed it but 500 pages is loooong. Plus I can't even search sr-71 review.... The forum says sr-71 is too small to search.

Hell I'll just stick with my flowers and my ghost pen. Happy I could contribute to the forum though. I'm no tech wiz as you can tell, I just grow good meds.

I can see clearly now the smoke is gone...
Dude. Don't give up on the Omi. It is a great device. Just takes a little more research to get everything right. Search that thread I posted for video's. Perhaps you are like me in that seeing something in action makes it clear where as reading a million instructions offers much less help.

As I said, wasn't trying to be a smartass or throw you off the device. That was just a lot of questions and most of then are in those 2 places.

When I got my omicron I didn't know 3.7, 7.4 , cart, atty etc. It took a while to learn the jargon and tips and tricks, but it is worth it once you do.

Okay... let me try this. Ill try to keep things simple.

The Omicron naturally runs at 3.7v, and will run any of the 3.7v accessories/carts. This includes the standard W9 carts and the KISS carts.

The HVD kit is an accessory that will let the Omicron run at 7.4v so you can use some accessories such as the Hammer. However I am mostly sure that it still wont be able to power the Hercules SR71 cartridge without "The Core".

The Core is basically a variable voltage device that plugs into an outlet or car adapter in order to bypass the limitations of the batteries.

Batteries... unless you are going to be using a Persei with a Hercules cart, the OEM batteries are fine, however buy AW labeled batteries if you want to get extras. They are decidedly longer lasting. Also, the type and number of batteries used dictates the overall voltage. Basically, two stacked 3.7v batteries will run at 7.4v however with an Omicron, you dont ever want to do that without the HVD option installed.

The old skool Omicron carts are okay for what they are. If you use them stick to the 2.4 ohm versions, as they have a much easier learning curve. These carts can hold about 0.5 to 0.7g at a time, and can be reused a few more times if you take care of it, however they are easy to fry if you're a noob, especially when they run low on concentrate. These are not my favorite things to use however people like @ataxian and @OF seem to like them just fine. Either way, I found uncut CO2 oil works best in these.

I would suggest the Titanium KISS cart. These are exposed coil, load as you go type of carts with ceramic wicks and grade 2 Ti heater wire. My non titanium version has lasted me countless grams without issue. Of course I also clean it regularly with iso baths. Also these are meant to do one or two dabs then be reloaded.

Lastly, the SR71 (soon to be the SR74) Hercules cart is boss. Itll hold almost a gram of concentrate, and is basically indestructible and infinitely reusable. It also gives bigger hits than a proper nail setup. Itll also vape anything from dirty hash to pure dewaxed oils. Sadly youd need an HVD top and a Core to run one on an Omicron.

The Persei, however, will run it all.

LMK of that helps. Im still on my phone and probably missed something.

No worries at all bill, I didn't take it as negative. I appreciate the links, just reading through all those pages made my head hurt. I'm not gonna give up on the omni anytime soon.

@Caligula :bowdown::bowdown: You are the man. That is exactly the info my dumbass couldn't pull out of the threads. Really appreciate it. Sounds like I will do the typical me thing and upgrade to the Persei when I can. Not cost effective to buy the hvd and core. I'm sure I'll dig the omi but the sr-74 sounds exactly like what I want for those long car ride. Thanks again for the info

Time to save up and add another to the arsenal. Persei and sr-74 will come in a month or two. As long as my wife doesn't see:ninja: Vas is ridiculous

On another good note payday came early so I just picked up 2 grams of top shelf shatter. Just dropped in 2 .3 and am working on getting it going now, no vapor yet but delicious taste. I see clouds right around the corner:nod:

Thanks agin for all the info guys. But unfortunately the forecast was wrong.... No clouds:\

Loaded the cart up with .7 at this point, primed it like everything says, and nothing. The only times I can get any vapor is from holding the power button for 6 seconds then I get a little mouth puff of vapor. Then nothing until I hold the button down again. Followed the instruction manual to do that 10 times, then paper clip, then it says just open ticket.

Pretty well over it. All the vapor I've gotten out of this is easily less then one fat rip from my ghost pen. Little bummed out but I'm thinking its time to melt this out of the cart and chalk it up to a mod donation haha. Im far to broke to waste any more oil in this at this point.
plus after researching and the last .2 is untouchable? Lol I can't waste 20% of my gram. My ghost pen blows good clouds so looks like I'll just stick with that

:( Sorry man.. Be careful melting it out though.. Just don't heat it too much, just get it warm enough.. I have taken a cart apart before, and there is a little more than just metal in there..

Sadly I was afraid that was going to happen which is exactly why I said I dislike those style carts and why W9 is moving away from those and onto the KISS and Hercules carts.

Its also why all the new Omicron and Persei units come with KISS carts now instead of the OG style carts.

That being said its 99.999% user error in cases like this, so you cant simply blame the product and wash your hands of it. But I should also note that It took me a good 4 to 5 carts before I was able to master those things.

Anyway, as I said just get a titanium KISS cart to use on your Omicron. Those things are basically fool proof and should last you until you can afford a Persei/Hercules combo.

No worries guys, and I'm sure it Is not the product. Still seems like with .7 I would be getting some vapor :shrug:I just don't understand what I could be doing to get absolutely no vapor.
Unfortunately I can not afford the oil it seems it would cost me to master these pens

I do love my ghost pen so I doubt the kiss carts would be any different?
Hopefully I can get some of the oil out of the cart since it was expensive as hell, and a rough month money/pain wise.

Thanks again everyone but I think the W9 stuff might not be for me. And I really want something that can hold a gram and give me consistent clouds. Time to start saving up

@Buildozer no need to apologize. Really cool of you to donate the omi to the auction, I'm sure it's a good device. I'm just not able to afford to feed it atm. Thanks again man:cheers:

Use a hair drier to heat the cart and have the oil run out via gravity.

As for the KISS cart, the flavor and potential safety (health wise) will be better given that those carts use medical grade ceramic wicks as well as grade 2 titanium heater wire (versus NiChrome which gives off that hot toaster smell/taste). Theres a reason why the high end titanium nails are made with grade 2.

Is that worth $25 + shipping to you? I cant say.

I also forgot about this guy:

Titanium KISS cart with built in water path! Seems like win.

Looks like I need to check up on those kiss carts. Although I thought the dr dabber pen was titanium and medical grade ceramic as well.

Ya I actually have a nail custom machined in one of the shops I work with. Same grade titanium they use in parts for Boeing and space shuttle parts. It's a pretty cool nail with the Venturi

I dont think the dabber uses grade 2. AFAIK W9 is the only company to produce heater wire from that grade material.

Hmmm well when I get some cash I'll pick one up and compare. Thanks for the heads up

Just curious what do you think I most likely did wrong?

Loading error. You didnt heat up the center portion of the cart which caused the molten concentrate to solidify half way down.

That's what I figured. Then I thought reheating it would fix the problem or just kinda sol?

Might be salvageable. Worst thing you can do is overheat the cart though either by pressing the power button or with an external heat source like a lighter.

I suggest heating the upper and center portion with a hair drier. See if that helps. If the lower 1/4 of the cart is too hot to hold back off the heat.

@sasNW Also be sure to always inhale for 1 second before hitting the power button, and for 2 seconds after getting off the power button. Prevents overheating seals.

Thanks for the advice, I'll give it one more shot after work before melting it out and loading into the ghost pen

Ended up pulling ~.6 back out of the .7! So atleast I didn't lose much at all, and the cart lives for next payday when I can afford to give it another try. For now I'll go with the ghost pen to conserve. Thanks again guys
