Help me to pick my very first glass :)

Hi guys, I would like to buy my very first glass piece, I would like it to be strudy and around the $100 price range, with a diffuser and ice notches. I plan to use it with a MFLB and the MFLB's 14mm pipe adapter that I already have.

So far I narrowed my options to:

3. SSFG with showerhead.

HVY isn't HVY any more. They were bought out and are actually, 1 company marketing glass under 3 different high profile names. @#$% wish I could remember which ones it is. There's a big long thread on it, on GC. While they're typically idiots, a LOT of them know the scoop, about what's going on behind the scenes in the glass world. They know a boatload of blowers, is why.

I believe one of them besides HVY, is PHX.

Hey Alex, those all look like really solid choices. I would also give my vote to the SSFG out of those 3. It's always cool to have something unique, and SSFG is a nice family company that many on FC are very satisfied with. And I've always heard HVY talked of highly as being a great value for the money, along with EHLE pieces. You really can't go wrong with any of your choices!

HVY is legit and well-priced!

EDIT: I didnt realise that HVY expanded, but the HVY I think about is the one that does all the cool heady pieces

HVY's still decent glass, its just not the HVY people think it is. The MiO I have, that's actually a HVY. When he sold out, he started up Made in Oregon. You should really search out the thread, on Grass City :puke:. There's a lot of misinformation, but the guys that know the blowers and in one case... is one of the blowers that shares space, they're made with the same manual labor and automation, as the other brands listed (sorry for my lapse in memory, drawback of medical). I know it wasn't anything I expected to read, nor was quite sure I believed it. But, after delving deep enough into it... its obvious the company themselves don't want to be associated and are trying to market themselves as completely different brands. I know its not illegal and even morally, people would debate.

Personally, I just don't go for that. Its a shame to, because I really used to like HVY glass.

Hi guys, I want to THANK YOU to all of you for your suggestions and feedback, most of you voted for the SSFG and that's what I ordered :)

You will not regret it. Even if there is issue with your piece (I'm not implying there will be)... just keep it real with Allison and she will love you for it. She likes honesty and kindness.

Onto your piece, if you got the showerhead to. Wow, you're going to get, a piece that will blow you away with the level of perc. I figured, a beaker's a beaker's a beaker. Wow, with Ray's downstem, its a frothy, bubbly, beaker of fun. Smooth hits and obviously great feedback. Perfect size for vapor to.

I have to be careful, otherwise I'm going to end up with a Leviathan/M&M Tech and SSFG only collection.

Yep I'll get the showerhead :), after a couple of years of too warm and dry vapor it will be my first water filtered and ice cooled vapor, I'm counting the days :)

I totally agree about Allison, she seems a really nice and helpful person!
