Help me pick my first good vape

Hello everyone. I have owned a MFLB for a few years and am ready to take the next step. I am a light user, usually just packing a very small amount in the evening to relax. My significant other joins me for this fairly often and is an even lighter user than me. She doesn't like the MFLB as she finds it too hard to get a decent hit. So here is what I am looking for:

  • Ease of use: it should be easy to get a good hit without using technique. This is by far the biggest consideration. Want to be able to get nice big draws without fussing.
  • Easy maintenance: not a big issue, but don't want to go through an extensive routine every time I use it.
  • Works well with small amounts
  • Is ready to use quickly without requiring it is on for a long period of time prior to use.
This is for home use, so I don't care much about portability, but would consider that feature a plus. I Have been looking at the Crafty, which I believe meets my needs, but I'm not exactly excited about the price. The solo gets recommended strongly here, but I have read that it has a lot of resistance when pulling and delivers less dense vapor, which may turn off my significant other. The plenty looks good, but seems better suited for bigger packs and is maybe not the easiest to use.

So should I bite the bullet and get the crafty? Is the solo pull resistance and vapor density not really a concern? Is there another I should consider?

It doesn't get too much love around here, but a vape I think may fit your needs is the Vapir NO2. This vape is straight easy mode in every way. Set the temperature, heat it up, put the herb in, good to go. It works especially well for sharing with another person. Every person I introduce it to seems to enjoy it. Heating wise it is mostly convection with a little bit of conduction from the sides of the heating chamber. It can be found for pretty cheap (80-90$) which is a plus, but Vapir's warranty isn't very reliable unless you get it from an authorized dealer (which will cost you more). There is absolutely no draw resistance, the vapor is basically leaking out of the top.

However, from everything I've read, the solo is just a better/higher quality version of the NO2, so unless draw resistance is really that big of an issue for you I would recommend that.

Another one to look at if you are interested in desktops would be DaBuddha.

My wife and I started with the MFLB as well. It didn't take long before we concluded that vaping was a permanent replacement for combustion/smoking and that the MFLB was going to be our main 'outside in the public world' vape.... so I bought a Solo as the next leg in the journey based on reviews here on FC and the cost. Sure...there can be draw resistance if I pack the bowl too hard or not keep it clean, etc. but when it becomes noticeably harder to take a hit.... I draw as if it were a cigarette buy 'puffing' instead of a steady inhale. I actually get some pretty good clouds when the 'puffing' is being done due to draw resistance so I don't mind it. Puffing can also re-establish regular draw rate.

I'd get the Solo...good price and a good place to start.

You will like the Solo. It will answer the hit issue your honey has with the mflb. It's the best hitting portable under $200 when you are looking for ease of use (I also recommend the Lotus a lot, but think you two will like the Solo better...it's easier to use). As to the draw restriction, it is only a problem if you draw too fast! The draw speed for the Solo is similar to the mflb when using it correctly, so you will be fine with it. It's only a problem for people who need to huff on their vapes. If you take an easy, slow draw the Solo will work great! It's the first portable I reach for when going over to a friend's for a session with three to five people. They all love it and get hammered and none of them complain about the draw.

Arizer improved the draw resistance on the Solo and it's no longer an issue for most users. The vapor from the Solo is plenty thick, I wouldn't worry about that either. The Solo makes a great "all-around" vape and I recommend it everyone... especially for a first vape. It will also fit your desire for a "no fuss" and "no wait" vaporizer very well, it's ready to vape in a minute and you don't have to stir the herb.

I would normally recommend a plug-in vape like the EpicVape E-nano for strictly home use, but the Solo should be just fine for a light user. Look into the E-nano when you're ready for the next step.

Can't believe it hasn't been mentioned yet.... check out the e-nano! Link is to about 20 pages back from current.

It's simple to use, very efficient, pretty nice looking wood (or can go with custom exotic woods), easy to maintain (with the minute amount of maintenance it requires) and has adjustable heat. It heats to using temp from cold in 5 - 10 minutes, but can be left on all the time (at a lower heat level) and be ready to vape in about 2 minutes. Also, can pair well with water pieces for a very smooth vaping experience.
