Help me choose my first whip-style vap

The rockzap beat the underdog for me because it's cheaper, and it has the ceramic insulation. That said, both vapes have solid reputations on this forum, I would also like to see a CRZ/UD comparison.
I was looking on the log vape thread and came across the toasty-top: it's a bit cheaper, looks like a good vape, anyone have any experience with this one?

I'll be making one soon ;)

Definitely have high hopes for the UD, videos show some fantastic vapor production

Great stuff looking forward to it. I have a SSV but my usage criteria has changed since i bought it and a log vape seems to be the way to go. it would be great to know the differences between them.

This right here. Both logs look high quality with good builds, top-of-the-line materials, beautiful craftsmanship, plenty of accessories, good warranties, and solid reputations. I'm not sure why the UD runs about $100 more than the CRZ on average, but it is hard to justify for someone who doesn't have any experience with either. I am curious about these "lost dogs" (which I assume means vapes that have not sold?), but I wish they would post them on the website for easy perusal. I'm not sure why they don't.

Lost Dogs are similar to the blemished 7thfloor units. They can have a nick or a scratch, but it doesn't affect how the units work. I think Dave doesn't put them on his website as a favor to us FC users, think of it as a privilege you know about them at all.

I've never used either but from what I gather there are a lot of differences between both products, especially from a users point of view. I'm going through the entire UD thread as we speak and there have been a few comparisons between the UD and the CRZ already (I'm at page 34 atm).

Most important differences I noticed so far (from reviews of people who had or have both vapes) is that the UD runs hotter, has better airflow & suction, & a bigger bowl which is also changeable in size by moving the screen. Then there is of course the difference in materials used in the airpath, and a very big difference for me personally: the UD ships worldwide.

Last edit: I think if conserving and low-tolerance are keywords to you a CRZ would probably suit you best, but if you prefer a heavier hitter a UD seems the more satisfying one here.

How does the UD run hotter? Is it producing more heat? Combusting possible? Different resistor used? Isn't the silicone stem the reason for better airflow and suction? Couldn't I use some silicone on my CRZ? What is the difference in materials used in the airpath? The CRZ is 100% SS. The CRZ ships pretty far too if you contact Rick. I'm glad the UD is there. I like to have options. Just not sure why you think "UD seems the more satisfying one"?

All I know is that users report a darker AVB with the UD, which must mean it runs hotter. I think they basically use to same 5W heating element so I'm not sure where the extra heat comes from, perhaps the element is closer to the bowl in the UD? I haven't read about anyone combusting with the UD so far.

The silicon stem is responsible for the better suction/seal with the heater core, but from what I gather the airpath is also less restricted then that of the more traditional logs. It works with at least some of the other log vapes as well but I'm not sure which ones, you'll get a better answer asking that one in the UD thread.

I didn't say the Underdog is more satisfying perse or for everyone, what I said was is that I think it is more satisfying for people who prefer a heavier hitting type of vaporizer. It has a bigger bowl & runs hotter thus it is capable of producing bigger clouds of vapor. Don't take my word for it though, instead have a look at some of the videos you can find in the UD thread.

That's why I look forward to SD_hazes objective side by side. I have 0 performance complaints from my CRZ, and I say the heavier hitter the better (I combusted many years).
