Help! Can't use my SSV, power plug doesn't fit outlet, confused.

Hey guys,

I really need your help bad, especially from anyone that has ordered internationally and has knowledge of power supplies.

I live in Australia, we have 240V power outlets. eg.

I recieve my SSV directly from 7th floor about 2 hours ago, I requested a 220V european power supply. I have a conformation of order stating 220V in my email and the invoice out of the box says 220V.

Now what the hell, I'm here $500 AUD later and I got my first serious vaporizer sitting here and I can't even plug it in.

What type have plug have I got? Is that the 220V european or the 110V US?

Now regardless of what plug type it is, it doesn't fit, what can I do to power this up? I assume I need to buy some type of adapter?

Sorry for the angry tone of the post guys, it's just so damn frustrating because I got a big bowl of weed here and I was so damn excited.

After much furious ringing around and asking my electronics savvy mates, seems 100% certain that 7th floor have sent me the 120V despite all invoices stating 220V. Best course of action it seems it to get a step down transformer, I'm heading out tomorrow morning to buy one for $50 (outputs 50W) and everything should be peachy. Glad I had some mates that worked in electronic stores, I have zero idea about power.

REALLY not happy about spending extra money considering there was no error on my part and the sizable investment of an SSV + extra wands. Now that it's in my hands though, I really wouldn't want to send it internationally all the way back to 7th floor.

On the plus side, it's absolutely beautiful and if it vapes half as good as it looks I'm sure my bitter feelings will quickly go away.

Please double check your power supplies before sending them half way across the world.

That's definitely the 110V US plug

I would think you would need to use a step down transformer. Something like http://www.tortech.com.au/stepdown.html. Somebody else will need to confirm though.

Edit: You beat me to the submit button by just a couple of seconds, hehe. Don't worry about the way the SSV performs. It's a great vaporizer. You won't be disappointed.

Definitely a North American type B plug, but even with a 220V unit, they're not going to supply the correct plug for every 220V country. It's not practical. If you look at this chart, you can see that different wall connectors are required for different 220V countries- http://www.kropla.com/electric2.htm

Before you go to additional expense, make sure you just don't need a wall adapter to convert the plug configuration. If they shipped a 120V unit to Australia, that sets a new standard for poor service/QC from 7th Floor IMO.

Oh man. I'm sorry to hear of your woes. That sounds TOTALLY annoying. They need to be shipping you the correct unit ASAP.

I bought a rainbow unit from them and when I inquired about the rings that were left behind from them wrapping the powercord around my SSV they said that they wouldn't replace it even though they sold me a non-mint unit. Not that it makes a difference but I was kinda surprised.

No risk and should work well. Its typically bulky and heavy.
