Hey all, I've been vaping like crazy the last month, have accumulated about an ounce of weed....I've never had any experience making this before, but through a bit of reading and research, I think I've managed to figure out how I'm going to do it. Just wanted to run through everything here, and then when I do this (probably 12/16-12/17) I'll post images of the final result.
I've never made this before, but I am fairly certain I have a method that should work, I just wanted to run through it for everyone.
I've never made this before, but I am fairly certain I have a method that should work, I just wanted to run through it for everyone.
- I have 28 grams of AVB. It's not charcoal black, its not super dark, overrall its a nice mixed consistency. Some pieces are real dark, some pretty light, overrall a nice light brown/green mix whenever I grind it up to fluff.
- I have Unrefined Virgin Coconut Oil. I also have a big mason jar. My plan is to put the fluff in the mason jar. I will fill a pot with water on the stove, and put a rag in the pot on the bottom to help protect the mason jar. I will melt down some Coconut Oil, just enough to cover all of my AVB, I don't really want any excess.
- Then I will put this jar, in the pot of water (very warm water, but not boiling), and stirring it every 15 minutes, let it cook for the better part of an afternoon (6-8 hours). IMPORTANT QUESTION: Can I leave the lid on the jar while cooking? I was planning on it, but figured it couldn't hurt to ask.
- I have some square ziploc storage containers, I was going to wrap a cheesecloth over the top of the mason jar, and then pour the oil into this container. Then I was going to squeeze out any excess oil from the plant matter into this container, using like gloves or sandwich bags or something to keep my hands clean.
- I will let this sit in the refrigerator for 24 hours. Another question, but could I freeze this to make it cool faster? I saw a lot of recipes said fridge, but they also seemed to be mixing water with their oil and then they don't want that water to freeze, so the fridge makes sense. Since I won't have that excess water in my mixture, would the freezer cause issues with it just being oil?
- Regardless, once this mixture solidifies, I was going to take a knife and segment the square of oil out into 4 columns, 7 rows, essentially 28 pieces, so I had some form of dosage. My plan was to use it mostly in coffee, and maybe make something simple like mac and cheese, so I figured this would be an easy way to eyeball out dosage.
