I do agree it's not typical for your devices. I owned HR Fury Edge V2, tried SE, and vaped multiple times through my friend’s Rogue. I also always appreciated direct and prompt communication here – even though I mostly read the forum and don't actively participate in discussions here.A “plasticy taste/smell” is not typical for our clients to experience with our devices. However, our devices are freshly manufactured and could have a factory smell similar to any newly heated electronic device - such as a new toaster. If any factory taste/smell remain after the suggested burn offs and ISO cleaning, it is most likely that there was excess factory residue in that particular unit. Therefore, the next suggestion is to run the device through a few extra burn-off sessions at the highest temperature setting while gently blowing through the air intake hole on the bottom of the device which should sterilize the vapor path. You can also add some ABV (already been vaped) herb in the chamber then gently blow through the mouthpiece to further season the vapor path - similar to seasoning a new frying pan. Any factory smell will be eliminated with this additional process.
Honestly, a super unhelpful advice.Well I'm a fan of Sneaky Pete ( they sell good stuff) and I'm also a fan of HR (they sell good stuff too). Not sure why people burn off devices multiple times at high temps. Seems counter intuitive ("Let's see if I can melt this thing from the inside out before I ever use it!" : ) The best way to get rid of any odor real or imagined is, in my experience, to run a pinch of good herb through it

Hi! It sounds like you have excess factory residue or oil in your particular device. This is highly unusual - but it can happen. You can try additional burn-offs and also try setting it in the outside air for a few days (with the mouthpiece off) - the fresh air can allow your device to 'breathe' and release lingering manufacturing odors. The silicone O-ring could be retaining manufacturing residue - soak it with ISO and water for about 30 minutes respectively.Sorry for late response, last week was a bit hectic for me.

Honestly speaking, I already tried what you're instructing me to do. Of course, I did not try with ABV because obviously I did not want to use any herbs in the device before I made sure I had eliminated any unwanted odor (or most importantly – its source). After all, it's not just the smell; otherwise, it would be gone after a short while. There's definitely something that causes it in the first place, and I don't love the idea of breathing it, especially if it's factory residue of some sort.
I did try running an air through the unit (both ways) during the burn-off process using a small electric air pump from Ali. Multiple times, at low pressure / air speed. It really did not improve anything.
Hi, very thoughtful suggestions and excellent review - we appreciate you helping us and the community! Thank you so much for sharing your positive experience with the FURY 3 - it's great to hear that you are enjoying it (nice pic too)! We've been doing our best with continuous updates and upgrades for nearly 10 yearsI really appreciate your responses here @HealthyRips.com ! I'd recommend removing the "blow ABV vapor into the heater" from your SOP, though. Since we can't clean this part of the device without voiding the warranty, the goal is to keep vapor and resin out of it.
When doing a burn off on any of my devices that I can't fully access initially to clean, I blow into the intake occasionally while running max temp sessions. Anything that the "burn off" releases is then coaxed up the vapor path (which is designed to handle heat in this direction). Typically I remove the top and stem above the oven to aid in this.
Anything in the vapor path gets hand washed with dish soap if it's not ISO safe (silicone, certain plastics, etc).
With this method on the Fury 3 I "taste the meat, not the heat".
To that last point, I've been meaning to chime in here about the F3 for a couple weeks on how happy I still am with it. It's been my main device this past month with my other regulars left in the photo booth, and I'm even more pleased with it than the initial honeymoon.
-Flavor is unreal at 410F. I think this is the most flavorful device I've ever tried in this class. I'm using dosing caps and getting an exquisite and defined terpene bouquet for much of the extraction. For the price and being an "appliance" device, it's not something I expected or would have demanded.
-Extraction on dosing caps and "vapor signature" is *perfect*. It's the Goldilocks Zone of extraction, with deep and full effects coming from dense hearty vapor. It's really good, and does a lot with very little.
-Heatup may be longer than some simlar devices I have, but when its ready it's READY. I can "just inhale" and be guaranteed great vapor. I've shared this with people who don't normally enjoy partaking and they have specifically asked me for more the rest of the night, as well as other days. This is huge. These same people never really got a good rip out of most other devices IMO.
-It's very "appliance like", in that I don't have to stress about usage, charging, loading, etc. I preload a bunch of dosing caps and the device itself is a lot like a bog standard cell phone in how I interact with it. I just use it.
-UI/UX is perfect. Ergonomically it fits great in the hand any sort of way, and the UI is extremely simple and easy to remember. Buttons are clicky and nice to interact with. The magnetic sliding piece is handy to open slightly to clear the stem, too.
-Size is so great. It's a cute lil runt of a device that hides in the hand. For the power and battery life it has, I'm really impressed with the form factor.
-Lastly, I really like this color and finish. The prior rubbery finish was a huge turnoff for me, and this is much more durable for iso wipes and feels great to hold.
Also, the Grey color looks fantastic and fits really well with my grey/black/silver/wood desk aesthetic.
