No, they keep it Schedule 1 due because it helps make more arrest, and spread fear by saying its "On the same list as heroin". Surprise, everyone, Methamphetamine is actually lower on the list than Cannabis, and is actually available via prescription. Not everyone knows that.
I encourage those in medical states to PLEASE google "mandatory minimum sentencing laws" for the less progressive states, some of them are Draconian and just horrific.
Truly great story! I won't ever call foxnews "news"; but I think everyone in our government should believe in modern medicine, be it controversial or not.
The science is there. The support is there. It is, has, and will continue to help people. This was a slap in the face to those suffering everywhere.
I'm glad they are asking them to resign, and hope they do so.

How rogue can you be and still keep a job in the DEA? You can literally shoot yourself in the foot in a classroom and still show up for work the next day.

The Department of the DEA is still reeling from it's earlier controversies. There is several posts in Cannabis News about misconduct and after the fallout form all of that, the new head of DEA's inflammatory comments. Mexico and Canada are towards legalization and he couldn't be any more out of touch and out of step with the country.
Lawmakers are hopefully getting wise to this rouge department. That continues to do more harm than good.
