I have had an Ascent since February. It was my first true vape (I had a vape brothers knockoff from years ago, hated it). It converted me from combusting to vaping. For that, it holds a dear place in my heart. Unfortunately I personally feel the Ascent's heater to be underpowered. The flavor is amazing at low temperatures, but I'm not a big fan of the vape for the price.
I don't know much about the Haze, so I cannot comment on the comparison. But I personally don't care for the Ascent at the price it's going for - for half the price, it would be worth it. At $250, It's not worth it to me.
Note, I bought mine direct from Davinci (davincivaporizer.com) - first unit was a model 1AA1 - it died after 1 month of INTENSIVE use (5 sessions a day) - the wires running through the rotating hinge broke on the heater and had to be replaced - my new unit was a 2AA1. Luckily the customer service is fairly good and I had a new unit within 10 days of failure. But that was 10 days too late - I had said fuck combustion 3 weeks earlier and had no working vape!
Another issue I have with the Ascent is the session length. My wife always complained that I was literally tethered to the Ascent since my session would last 30 minutes (probably longer by now.... ha haha).
I still like the Ascent, but unless you can buy one from an authorized vendor with a valid warranty for under $200, I would personally say your money is better spent elsewhere.
Will I ever get rid of this vape? Nope. It's the most portable vape I have currently (though reloading can be a pain while traveling). Also the flavor is spectacular between 330 and 350F
Do I regret spending $250 on this vape? Absolutely.
