Hash Vaporizer, medium budget

Hello. I am glad to see such a helpful forum, very nice.

I am searching for a vaporizer mostly to use with dark types of hash like charas, morrocen (like a plasticine) or kief(pressed solid type) ?

I look over for a medium budget portable for a beggining. I red tons of articles about pens. Is that correct that it is better to find one with a wickless cartridge atomizer ?

Also I dont want to put huge amounts of stuff, maybe sometimes I want to use a dosage of less than 0.5 gr of hash in the cartridge, can I somehow ?

I red that for true vaporizing herbs I need a higher price vaporizer with controlled temperature. So It is better to buy one pen for the start and later another for herbs or one with higher price to work with herbs and hash together ?

M'yeah, while the sky is the limit a bit too often in our vaporist universe we usually read about things such as a Volcano early in the begining...

Personally it's what's inside that makes me light up, so to speak.

I believe it's about energy actually vaporizing the noble molecules and temperature reflecting what's going on, making power adjustments on thermostatic models, etc. So, control is a nice thing to have but one could argue ritual has quite an impact too and that's one important aspect which makes me suggest you consider the power of fire!

Among other considerations do you envision yourself sucking on it with a relaxed minset for half an hour?... Or would it sound more appealing to experience a time-compressed event that lasts for less than 12 ~ 15 seconds (max.), typically? At a rate of a few 125 mg bowls daily and ~5 tokes per bowl on average - plus cookies (as i don't seek total depletion).

A whole spectrum of cannabic appreciation is covered using my modded VG pipe, which in retrospect can be replicated using a cost-effective and really affordable VG Classic, among a few others. The "Flamed Finish" model has a 60 $ price tag on the manufacturer's own web site and i recall you can get replacement SiC "Ceramic Filter" discs for 20 ~ 25 $, so that's not even a hundred bucks...

As a former hashish smoker who switched to dry flowers i'd have little worries that such devices work with hashish as well. No need for a "Plan-A" @ 300+ $ for that. And it's only 1 scenario: mine. E.G. lets wait for more!...

Please drop me a line should you ever find the St-Graal of e-Cigs, which only provide power control at best since there's no sensor by the way.

Yet i gather you're after a portable, hence the idea of a VG. But it requires decent butane cans and lighters: i use more than 1 to swap between inhalations and avoid overheating it... Those accessories happen to prove critical items in this application, try to choose it wisely if you do!

But an e-Cig? Hummm... I'm curious to read what's coming next!

I don't know if the type of old school hash you talk about would work in a vape pen? It is really sticky, and a real mess to clean up after vaping. It is not full melt like many of the modern US hashes, oils, waxes etc.

I would buy a regular portable vape that can do high temps. I use the Pinnacle Pro and just wrap a little ball of hash (0.2 - 0.3) in some raw papers and turn the heat to four. Then it's easy to get the hash out after use. If not you'll have to scrape it out while it's still hot, or it'll stick to the bullet. (The PnP uses a bullet system)

Hmmm, maybe I should make the "vaping old school/import hash" thread I've talked about making?

Anybody tried the Vapman with hash? I'm seriously considering a purchase.

I recommend looking at the Hammer as well, you can either vape your hash in conduction or convection, I personally like utilizing both.

Dont get a pen. I use a solo and lotus for pollom (pressed kief) and afghan black. Works very well

Pens only work with concentrates that sublimate completely without leaving residue.

For hash, I'm happy with any butane powered pipe.

The vapman screens aren't out yet but I'm fairly confident this would be a good choice when they do.

The mflb is ok but it depends how much you vape as hash uses a whole battery per tray of hash.

The solo does a pretty good job and is a fairly safe be in terms of all round quality and functionality.

I'd avoid the pens you'll end up combusting or destroying pens at a reducible us rate.

What a good community here, thank you all for your answers.

I am very confused... so much things to consider.. I will try to write some of them..

- Most use of the vaporizer will be with myself only. I dont usually want big sessions, I prefer some good hits and after some hours again.

- One of my main priorities is the vaporizer to handle adjustable amounts of hash or weed starting from very low (0.1g to ...) and minimum consumption of material used(hash or weed).

- Do convection or conduction meet my demands ?

Some days before I was thinking of getting O-phos or Gentleman's pen for hash and Flowermate v5.0 for herbs. They told me that the minimum dose is 0.5g not to burn the cartridge.

- I am thinking of spending more money if only to get something that can vape hash and weed with true vapor result.

I will write some choices I am considering and some issues next to them.

- MFLB : Minimum doses ok but If to use both hash and weed I need power adapter, trays, whips, water pipes etc... so with all that extra stuff I think can buy one all in one kit.
What about Muad Dib concentrate box ?

- Hammer : Some reviews says about smell and taste of inhaling butane

- Vapman : Interesting, torch and flame difficulties. Dont know if compatible for hash

- Vapor genie: Dont know if compatible for hash. torch and flame difficulties

- Lotus : Dont know if compatible for hash. torch and flame difficulties

- Log : The same

And some vapes I dont know much about it but looks promising. Are they ?

Is it better to buy one vaporizer exclusive for concentrates and later one exclusive for weed(maybe wait Grasshopper..) or one expensive for all circumstances ?

My VG pipe has been so radically transformed through modding i can't pretend it's a VG anymore and i no longer have a genuine Classic remaining neither, unfortunately. Yet, while hashish isn't a favourite habit of mine i was lucky to appreciate some tantalizing samples earlier this summer, on a bed of shreaded dry flowers... It sure amplified the experience in comparison to my routine, maybe there are better ways to do it but i didn't get an impression the pipe had failed me in any way.

As for fire issues this got nailed for good using a "PinHole" (à la VapMan), after i shortened the core's top funnel: jet flames appeared to extinguish when too close so i decided to cut my sphere, which worked fine enough it seems! After my pinhole addition i felt i had picked quite the correct option after all!...



Although one must account for individual situations leading to variable results i'd say a toke lasts less than ~ 12 seconds, more like 7 ~ 9 depending on lung power. Steel-lung guys can make it as brief as 2 ~ 3 sec., perhaps 4 seconds i suppose.

At 1st i start inhaling at a faint rate only to pre-heat, then i raise airflow to cause some "bottleneck" burst of presure which arises when all the nobles molecules want to leave together at once... Ideally that's my signal to remove fire, as my (modded) front puck is likely to be dim-red, then i raise airflow once more to bring it in and as a final gesture i suck energically to benefit from what's still in the upper aerial ways and sinuses... But i could be misinterpreting, i'll need to record myself and analyze timing eventually.



After enough practice the ritual adds value like i could hardly do with my table unit. Because the VG is a self-moisturizing pipe and now i perceive the new pinhole renders my cannabic stream even more enjoyable than i had gotten used to. A day may come when i won't care much for a sip of water, which would be a blessing outdoors!

At least my VG won't break when a lightstorm causes high-voltage spikes to destroy electric devices, etc., whatever. Just select a corresponding butane can/lighter wisely and you shall have a dependable "Plan-B", where "B" stands for "Butane"!...

It's not as sleek as an e-Cig but what real vape is?
