Grinding - How fine is fine ?

I just got my first vape, a Magic Flight Launch Box. Also my first adventure at grinding. I have read that a fine grind is better, but the question I have is: How fine is fine? Powder? Coarse salt, Ice Cream topping candy "shots"? Grape Nuts cereal ? The grinder that came from the retailer is an aluminum 4 piece that says 50mm on it and has holes that are 4.85mm diameter.

I use the left and the middle grinds (they come from the same grinder, the left is coarse bud and the middle is from the first screen of my 5 piece). The right is just kief.

I get best results by vaping the bud for a little bit, then crushing it up with the battery. I usually end up crushing it 2 or 3 times, until it's dust. Ultra-efficiency!

Hmmm, set that picture as "adult content" because of the legality of it....don't think I'll do that next time.

The MFLB def. appreciates a finer grind. I'd liken my grind to a cross between table salt and a powder.

If your grinder isn't giving you super fine grind just take a few puffs, dump, crumble herb further and retrench... will give you same results. I have taken to using a coffee grinder for my LB and really pleased with the grind but I have to clean the grinder to harvest what is left behind in grinder.

Just flip the grinder over and give it some extra turns, that will get it really fine. For the MFLB, you can't go too fine.

Yeah... if you just keep that 4pc upside for a bit you will be finer grind. Start there and then see how much further it crumbles after a few hits. You'll find your happy spot

When it comes to grinding it's definitely a game of trial and error to obtain the perfect grind... play with it and you'll discover what works best for you... personally I like it just the way Lo said, a perfect blend of coarseness and powder.

I use something close to the middle as well. just put a coin in the chamber and the shake grinder. this will break the bud up, as well as help collect more kief.
