Grinder for vapes- how fine?

Should you grind it to almost dust? Even for Spacecase I don't really seem to get a really fine, dusty texture. I'm considering using a coffee grinder or grate.

What kind of vaporizer are you using? Some vapes seem to work best with a very fine grind such as the MFLB. Others work best with just a moderate grind and there are others that require no grinding at all. I think you definitely don't want to grind it into a dust though.

The MFLB. My grinder doesn't get nearly as fine as what I've seen from MF's Finishing Grinder.

Ok then you definitely want it to be as fine as possible. For the MFlb I grind and then get a pair of scissors and chop it finer. To avoid combusting with the MFlb one of the things that will help is a very fine grind.

A few spins on a $20 whirly blade coffee grinder after running your flowers through the spacecase will give you a very fine grind for the mflb.

I love my Sanata Cruz Shredder, but for a really fine grind, the under $10 Volcano grinder is great.

That being said, it all depends on the vape. Some need finer than others...one can even take a whole nug.

Like you say it really does depend on the vape.

I have SPACE CASES and they work really well.
However I will get a 2" SANTA CRUZ SHEDDER to try out and see what I'm missing?

For a really fine grind- like you'd want for the LB- it makes no difference what you use for a grinder unless your herb is really dry. You want it dry enough so that it easily grinds to a powdery consistency. With the herb nice and dry, any 2 piece grinder from 30mm to 50mm will do a bang up job of giving you a good grind for the MF box. For other vapes I don't like grinding to a very fine consistency, but the LB is a different animal and loves that fine grind.

If I have a coarse grind and my MFLB I just overfill the trench a little , Take two hits dump the herb in the palm of my hand and crush it with my index finger . You can't grind it any finer .

This way the herb in my JyARz is ready for what ever vape I decide to use on any givin' day .

Works for me . :peace:

This IS my happy face..
My hands don't work well any more, so I use a $15 Proctor-Silex coffee/spice electric grinder. You can make it as fine as you like by holding the button longer..Works great for me..I have several other grinders, including a large Space Case, but I prefer the electric grinder because of ease of use and texture control.:)

Thanks Max.
All this time my grind has been too course for the MFLB.

I have an electric grinder that I used to use when I made edibles more frequently & it it does work very well. I just found it to cumbersome to grind up smaller amounts but I also don't have to worry about my hands.

For the OP, if your herb isn't too dry to start with you can try grinding it the night before & let it sit out to dry a little more then the next day grind it again once it is a little dryer. If you have a 4-piece grinder you can just hold it upside down while you grind so it doesn't fall back through the holes before being thoroughly ground.

I Like to grind it pretty fine. But not so fine that it falls through or clogs the screen.

If I see little green bits floating in my bubbler I know i've gone too far.

Dude, don't buy another grinder. Unless you have a 4 piece space case grinder, just continue to grind your herb for a good five minutes or so and trust me, it will get it to sand like material. And if it's a 4 piece, turn it upside down.

I have a space case medium two piecd and I like my grind fine. I usually grind for five minutes and it comes out to the same consistency (sand like) as long as I fill the grinder enough.

I find that in order to get the grind really fine you have to fill the grinding compartment all the way. Filling it half way gives me a courser grind no matter how much time I spend twisting and tapping.

Also as stated above.
If using a four piece grinder, be sure to use it upside down until you reach the desired consistency.

Dryer material will grind finer much easier, faster. I removed the rubber from my jar lid, that helped. I use scissors and my grind is done in a couple movements.

Thanks guys! Flipping the grinder upside down and grinding it for a few minutes has worked well. No need to buy more expensive grinders. Pretty darn fine for my MFLB.
