I was on the ryot site and checked kannastor and noticed the new system. There's no info on it but it looks different.

I see most of the units with the acrylic chamber are out of stock, but some of the units with the solid chamber are in stock. You're right, not a word about them, not even dimensions? I'm guessing they're just launching and not quite ready lol.

You know one thing I just noticed. The design it's very neutral like coffee maker looking. That's great for stoners! Stealth by just blending into the background basic crap world!

I love my Vape GR8TR so much I own two! I only use the fine plate and it is perfect for my use!

That's good to hear! I was planning on ordering one of the ryot axe hard bags and that's reassuring about the possible purchase!

I like the new grinding plate sections, it looks like changing them would be much easier.
Not enough of a change to make me want a new grinder though as my v1 solid body GR8TR's are still going strong.

While the new design is attractive and it looks like they improved the grinding plate system. I don’t think I’ll be purchasing one as it doesn’t look like they touched the threading at all.

The amount of turns required on my GR8TR to disassemble the pieces is the only issue I have.

@Ramahs sweet deal.... the hole pattern on the fine plate looks different than mine though... interesting. I think the v2 hole pattern has changed as well? At least on the fine plate?

That's the one I decided to not buy. Funny thing is I think good photos in the jyarz grinder thread confined me not to buy it.

I suspected they were going to update it after I was checking the website that day! All the gr8trs were 50% off.

I was about to order the solid body one but I was being too picky with color codes do I missed out on an early order


Btw use the coupon smash420 on the ryot or kannastor websites for 20% off everything it's from some rambling potheads YouTube.

I notice that. It's a little thing really. I do like how my SLX 2.0 comes apart on less than one turn. However, the machining on these fine threads are excellent. Very smooth turning. Having to pick up one's hands and grab again and turn like 6 times does feel like way more than it should be.
Not too big of an issue for me though.

I dunno. It's my first Kannastor grinder.

Ha ha. Good to see ya here.

I really like the machining on this though. It makes me kinda think I should have gotten the bigger one.
Oh well, I'm happy with what I got.

I may be snagging a NewVape Fine grinder soon as well, as I'm waiting for a reply from another redditor who has one for sale.

Looking at the colours, it s very iGrinder um iPhone looking.... don t know how i feel about this. I kind of appreciate the neutral look but also like some individuality or the "workshop tool look" of some other manufacturers.

Since we don't know about the grinds of the 2 yet, is there any coarse grind on the original version?

I have a fine and a coarse plate with my solid body v1's
When I started using them, I used the fine plate exclusively, but now use the coarse instead as the holes don't clog so easily

Although it appears that the hole pattern has changed slightly (at least on the fine plate), IMO there is zero reason to believe that the grind consistency will be any different from v.1 IMO.

The question is, when will they be IN STOCK!?

There's been an update on the website with a video and some ad copy. It looks like a mainly visual change with better leveling of plates and screens. I haven't wanted the video yet though.

Oops, I neglected to indicate "Vape Gr8tr"... which only came with the fine plate. And they don't sell the regular plate.

EDIT

It also has a modular top the same as jar/solid bodies.... the previous "vape gr8tr" had a thinner smaller top that didn't store a plate AFAIK.

I love my Gr8tr. It was my go to for a while. Really depends what I'm doing. For vaping it's great. Sometimes we still smoke cones and my Dreamer grinder is the best thing ever made for packing those.

I'm sure a Gr8tr2 is in my not too distant future tho. I'm a bit of a grinder collector. Probably have about 30 of them.
