As OP, I have no problems to solve, but need help with one.

I just spilled over 3000 stainless steel bearings into a medium pile carpet.

How do I get every last one, so I don't kill my vacuum cleaner? There's got to be something better than picking them up one by one.

Those bearings wont damage your hoover, assuming you want to keep the bearings, put a fresh bag in your hoover, once hoovered up tip the bag into another container.

I need a reliable link that specifically shows soda-lime glass being safe/resistant to use with both iso99 & etho96.

Roll the rug up, then stick one end in a container, then lift the other end up and shake till you ache.

Magnets usually do not work on stainless steel. Maybe use a commercial type vac? Like the Ridgid brand ones at Home Depot. Return it after. Lol those balls won't damage those vacs

Buy a magnetic instrument pad, we use them in the O.R all the time to keep Stainless Steel things in place ;-) we also use them taped to a swifter type stick if someone "somehow" has dropped a surgical needle on the floor NO , i've never had a miscount in the O.R.

Stainless steel is not magnet-able. perhaps coated in it, it is...

Ferrous metals only.

I got as many as I could before feeling like a scabby-kneed tweaker. Lazieness ensued, and I ended up putting another rug on top of what was left. If I walk on it barefoot, it's kind of like shiatzu massage.
