Getting off Tobbaco

Wait, are you trying to say that you've become addicted to tobacco simply through smoking it in joints? If so I'd say you're definitely not addicted and it's 100% mental.

As blissdreamer said it's completely up to you. If you still want to actually smoke, get a tiny pipe so you conserve your bud/don't have to use tobacco. If you want to move to vaping, cut everything out and move to vaping, you'll conserve even more bud.
This is untrue. As a scientist (psychology/anthropology/sociology) familiar with the literature on addiction, you can be addicted to the tobacco put in your joints. I used to smoke 20-30 such joints a day, this is the equivalent of 5-10 self rolled cigarettes of tobacco a day. I definitely had tobacco withdrawals getting off tobacco when I went to vaping.

To the OP, you will find nicotine withdrawals difficult for the first two-three days of dropping it completely. To assist in this, lower your usage of tobacco very slowly and very gradually over 2 weeks to a month. Smoke less joints each day and vape more. Do yourself a favour and get a vaporizer that does high temps/continuous clouds better. If you want something portable but somewhat less discreet, the Lotus is the only way to go for great, continuous clouds with a medically safe device to use. Accidental combustion is a risk, make sure you remain conscious that when the bowl starts tasting a little acrid/burnt popcornish, it is spent AVB and should not be vaped again!

I would strongly recommend the E-Nano, it is the best vaporizer I have found for big clouds/high temps/both flowers and concentrates, it is under $200 USD and the service from the manufacturer is second to none!

The inhalator XP from my understanding is quite comparable to the PNP I used to own. That will be difficult to get you off combusting alone, due to your stated lack of consistent cloudage. The resulting high from the lack of consistent high heat will be much less sleepy/couch-lockish than your joints were. The key is to match the conditions you were seeking from the joints as much as possible, whilst ditching the tobacco (SLOWLY! Can't stress this enough! One long but successful quitting process sure beats relapsing early on and having to start again over and over!).

All the best man, I'm getting towards the end of weening myself off the occasional joint now, 3 months in. It is a mission!

op said that he is in scotland and it's rare to smoke pure bud joints. i really doubt he's smoking 25 joints a day

Even if he is smoking 5-10, with half and half spin or 1:3 tobacco to bud ratio, that is still 2-6 cigarettes a day. That as an average intake would bring about nicotine dependence with moderate withdrawals.

Burning tobacco has more negative health effects than benefits. It's kind of off topic, but there's always vaping, patches, etc. Consider that nicotine is fiercely addictive, apart from it's potential benefits.

I switched to ecigs 2 years ago after smoking cigs for 15+ years, not really trying to quit... it was cheaper and I liked it. After my stink and cough went away with money saved and no self-discipline exercised, I became a fan. Note, I did waste money and time on ecig junk before I found a sustainable solution. edit: I did have a strong will to find a flavor and a device that hit like a tasty mack truck. I found it eventually.

I've stepped from 24mg, 2 mg at a time, down to 10mg now. I'm in no hurry to give it up tbh, but the novelty is kinda wearing off and I don't want to be dependent on nicotine forever.

It really is very easy to quit using E-cigs. I started using E-cigs (12 mg) like a month ago, after being a regular smoker for 5+ years.

I put a time frame of a month to stop smoking. I actually stopped smoking after 2 days. The smoke just became unbearable, and still is. I really dont see myself ever going back to cigarettes. I feel better, Im saving money, and I think its just a better experience than smoking. Im now down to 9mg. I dont crave nicotine as much as i used to anymore. I've noticed that after i eat, Im not AS craving for nicotine as before. Im going to keep lowering the nicotine till im down to zero. If the math is right, 15 yrs of smoking= 3 yrs of vaping to quit for you, and 5 years of smoking= 1 year of vaping for me. LOL. And the best thing about it is like you said, you dont have to rush the process.

imo albert einstein being one of the world's cleverest people and being a smoker was no coincidence.
IMAO this post is not exactly promoting the usage of the your favourite spammed product...
I quit after 30 years and two packs a day in two days and am still very happy about that!

I can have my cake and eat it with smokeless tobacco ie. still get benefits of tobacco without combustion.

Me too i quit smoking accidentily though with snus i wasn't even ready to quit but it worked. Don't shoot the messenger!

Hey guys, first time posting here as well :)

I feel you OP, I also got my first vaporizer a couple of days ago (a nice Extreme Q, I'm already loving it!), and I've stoped smoking my joints mixed with some tobbaco. And even though I'm not a tobaco smoker I can feel the urge of smoking again, even now that I can get even higher with my new toy.

So yeah, it's prefectly possible to get addicted to nicotine, even if you only take small doses of it. It's been a couple of days without smoking a single spliff now, and I want to keep it that way because it sucks feeling this constant need, and I know it won't last more than a couple of weeks.
It's more than worth it, because the vaporizer is not only healthier, but I'm getting some amazing and trippy highs with it.

Happy vaping :science:

Nicotine is highly addictive trying some low dose nicotine patches for a while may help if it all gets too much. Cut them down by dose etc

As I said I know plenty of folks who now smoke cigarettes as a result of joints about half of them never smoke weed anymore.

@Ansel I've tried snus and I'm not sure the OP would go for it, I tried it and it was never the same as smoking/vape for me. Though when I did a little research on snus it seemed pretty safe compared to tobacco cigarettes and chew/dip. All comes down to personal preference.

when i found my favourite brand i prefer it to smoking. Just got back from a trek through the woodland. would have struggled as a smoker. #healthylungs

ecigs are ok but i still get out of breath with them whereas smokeless doesn't affect your lung.

Nicotine constricts blood vessels. Compromised circulation makes the heart work harder and can make for some labored breathing... I don't mean to negate what you're saying, just adding some info.

I hate that I need nic.

I find I'm smoking more spliffs these days. I mean I only smoke less than 10 a year but I love em.

I'm stuck with some really potent sour d that keeps me up at night. Only if I vape a couple bowls at 240-250C will I get the slightest hint of sleepyness. I hate how my face/neck feel the next day!

For me, and I am sure many others, quitting smoking was very difficult.

I have what you call the "replacement problem". When I quit one thing I usually have to replace it for something else until it is out of my system. After numerous, numerous tries to stop sucking on those cancer sticks, I tried vaping. I am NOT sucking up, this is truth, without help with understanding what vaping is all about and getting necessary info about tanks, batteries and juice, you can waste a lot of time and money trying things out. Ultimately, only you know what you like but since I didn't know anyone who vaped, I needed guidance.

First found my friends and with their vids found others, this forum and others. But I must say, I love Chris' vids and their way of doing things. I am totally smoke free now. Don't know if I will ever give up vaping I do enjoy it very much. Thanks my friends and my favourite Inshare e cig.

New year is coming so do something great for yourself and your fam, put those nasty cigs down. Happy Holidays and Happy New Year.

@kulalai

Congratulations on quitting the nasty cigarette habit. However....

We are not an ecig forum. This forum is all about the glorious plant marijuana. So while we appreciate that you now vape, unless you vape some form of the hemp plant we aren't really into it. I would suggest you join an ecig forum that will appreciate your posts regarding tobacco more.

.

This is my biggest issue, haven't found an e-cig that gives me a proper rip like a cigarette. Care to share? I also can't find a juice that matches what I smoke (Newports), that being said I have tried a beevy of coffee flavored juices that have all tasted wonderful, similar to Marlboro 27s, the issue arises when I can't get a proper smack on them.

You're kidding me here right? :hmm: Did you not read the post above yours? The one where I say this isn't an ecig forum?

If you want some information from xRufusx regarding ecigs, ask him via pm.

Since the OP never came back to here the answers here, and so as not to promote more ecig talk, I'm closing this thread.
