Hi Fuck Combustion forum community,
Firstly I need to say that I have been given special permission to post this information here by the FC forum admin team.
I am running a crowd funding campaign at http://igg.me/at/cannabisforadhd to finance the writing of a pilot study to test cannabis as a treatment for ADHD, which will lead to a full clinical trial to be conducted by world-class researcher Professor Dr. Kirsten Müller-Vahl, Specialist in Neurology and Psychiatry and Medical Director of the Department of Psychiatry, Social Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at Hannover Medical School in Germany (where such research is already possible).
Several world-leading experts in treating complicated disorders like ADHD using cannabis have already agreed to join a scientific advisory board when the funding is raised including:
* Raphael Mechoulam, Professor of Medicinal Chemistry (Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel)
* Lester Grinspoon MD, Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry (Harvard University, USA)
* Julie Holland MD, Psychiatrist and Psychopharmacologist (New York University, USA), and
* Robert Melamede PhD, Molecular Biologist and Biochemist (University of Colorado, USA).
The clinical protocol for this project will be based on the European Medicines Agency's guideline on the clinical investigation of medicinal products for the treatment of ADHD.
The study intends to provide evidence of a statistically significant correlation between the use of several strains of cannabis and a reduction in symptoms of inattention, impulsivity and hyperactivity for sufferers of both ADHD subtypes, in comparison with placebo and one or more active comparators (e.g., Methylphenidate and Dexamphetamine).
It will also measure real-world outcomes such as changes (good or bad) in focusing on tasks and academic performance, and improvements in associated behavioural and relational issues. You can read more details about the study in the sup-pages of the What's the plan? section on my website.
The results of this study should in due course should lead to the legalization of cannabis as a medicine to treat ADHD around the world. The goal of this is so that myself and the countless thousands of others like me can finally live the normal lives we are currently being denied due to the illegality of our medicine.
This campaign is now 105% funded with less than 16 hours remaining until the extended deadline, so we are now one step closer to providing the evidence that cannabis is medicine for ADHD so it can become a legally prescribed treatment which will change the lives of countless thousands of patients and their families!
During this last day of this campaign I hope to raise a further $1000 needed to make sure that the writing of the pilot study is performed by the highest possible caliber of researcher, with no expense being spared for this important work.
If you can afford to give anything it would really help to make that happen... if I can secure some further donations or if some people claim the remaining vaporizers that I have as perks that is entirely possible.
I have 1 x Volcano, 1 x Mighty and 1 x Crafty vaporizer manufactured by Storz and Bickel left for 25% off their Recommended Retail Prices. This is an opportunity to get a great vape at an unbeatable price and help this very worthy cause at the same time!
* The Crafty usually retails for US$399 and I have one them for $300.
* The Mighty usually retails for US$469 and I have one of them for $350, and
* The Volcano usually retails for US$669 and I have one of them for $500.
These prices include shipping worldwide. As mentioned the campaign ends in less than 16 hours so the devices will be shipped very soon.
If you don't want a vaporizer but can still contribute something to the campaign it would really help to make this important study possible. Even $5 or $10 would be really great as it all adds up!
With a bit of luck I hope to have the full $3,500 by the end of today;~)
Here is a 1.5 minute video which I shot yesterday about the project:
