Could vaping affect the pancreas in any way? I understand combusting mj and tobacco can.

Gastro is telling it's affecting my pancreas since my enzymes are high.

I would also be very interested to know this.

Just to throw my voice into the discussion: I have been referred to, but have yet to receive an initial appointment with a gastroenterologist, since my regular practitioner and I were unable to determine the cause of my chronic nausea through the typical gamut of laboratory (rat) tests.

What interests me is that I have impaired fasting glucose, which means that my blood sugar is very high (diabetic levels) when I haven't eaten for 12 hours. The thing that is strange, is that apparently my overall blood sugar profile appears normal, and while I don't eat very regular meals, and haven't for years, I certainly do not eat poorly, and am not overweight, or a sugar addict. It remains a bit of a mystery to everyone concerned: even the nurse at my doctor's office who deals specifically with diabetic patients was very confused by my blood test results. My fasting blood sugar is as high as a diabetic person, but if I check it at any point during the day it is "normal".

I hope that there is no correlation, but now I'm wondering if this could be the answer to my little conundrum as well...

Postscript: I am looking into this. So far, I have found this, which seems like it may be relevant.

I too have impaired fasting glucose and I'm fairly thin, young and healthy. I now monitor my BG using meter to find out what causes high bg in morning. My day BG numbers are also normal during the day too. Next time when you eat, try testing 15 mins after you eat instead of the recommended 1-2 hours after. You might be like me where it spikes only for a short while.

I think you have what is called the "dawn effect" try googling it. It's mainly those who have high BG in morning.

The research that I frequently see on the web seems to point to the positive as far as the pancreas goes. Some stating that it is neutral or no conclusive evidence that it does affect it.

If anything, if you also drink alcohol and certainly your choice of food intake is a substantially more causal reason for pancreatic issues.
