I lived in SC while the big debate raged around removing the flag from the top of the state building. By "the debate raged" I mean "lots of white SC men fussed bitterly" over the fact that someone dare complain about the flag's rightful presence on that building. They were noble enough after venting their vitriol far and wide to "compromise" on allowing it to be moved from the top of the capitol to a prominent spot on the capitol lawn. We humans are strange creatures.

:disgust: Fuck my spine. I always have some kind of pain but recently it has been in the mid to lower area which is kind of unusual for me. Its been bad for about a month. I see a chiropractor but I must admit I often attempt to perform chiropractic adjustments myself. After some stretching yesterday I kind of sat down and flattened my back against the couch. I heard a massive crack (the good kind) and thought I had corrected the problem. I woke up this morning and I was right. The pain was gone and I could feel my strength returning. God damn I'm going to have a great day I thought. 30 minutes later I managed to tweak something in my upper right shoulder area and a new source of pain has begun. Fuck me :doh:

I lived with an American from South Carolina in Taiwan a few years back. He was very fond of both Old Glory and the Rebel/Confederate flag. I often observed him in heated arguments with other Americans and few Canadians about that issue. He actually asked me in all seriousness if he could hang Old Glory in our living room. I like America as much as the next guy but that was a bit much for me. As far as the rebel flag goes, I will leave that debate to you Americans but will add a fuck you to all forms of racism.

@Shrike - I don't want to start a whole reverse racism debate but don't you think using the term "cracker" to describe a white person is being racist?

Mr. Gwello...I know that "cracker" became a real derogatory word. I was using it in what was it's original incarnation referring to a slave foreman who punished the slaves with a bullwhip...hence the term "cracking" the whip.

But you're right...I retract the cracker term describing him. This low-life murdered nice innocent people...he's nothing but human debris that should be disposed of as soon as possible...

Hey Shrike. That is really interesting actually. I'm very interested in the origin of words but I had no idea that was where the term 'cracker' originated. Sorry if my comment came across as a bit uptight. I find reverse racism amusing as I sometimes cop it a little as white man in Asia. "Gweilo" actually means ghost or ghost man in Cantonese. I've had arguments with Chinese people before when they curse me out and call me a ghost man. I usually just end up laughing at the absurdity of it.

Interesting! (Or should I say "what the fuck?") In Mexico, a person of light complexion is called güero / güera. We're all familiar with the similarity between the Asian r/l. Coincidence or is there some linguistic connection? If I weren't so busy right now I'd google it.
