I know these recent posts are OT, but it's a really interesting discussion. Ok, fucking discussion.

Self-esteem can be really hard to come by but it's also essential to have any kind of quality of life. So many things in our society are there to tear it down so I don't begrudge anyone for trying to carve out a little bit of self-esteem for themselves, in whatever form that may take.

In regards to the above, for me, it matters not what people do to help boost their self-esteem as long as it doesn't come at the "direct" expense of others, or in other words, stealing it from someone else.

Fuck ego stealers......!!!

I say FUCK YOU to anyone that thinks I bought my car because I have a little dick or because I'm trying to compensate for something else. In all actuality, my dick is barely functional because I have no prostate. And I have no prostate because I have cancer.

In my quest to enjoy as much as life has to offer before I reach my expiration date, I bought a new Vette Convertible. It has nothing to do with ego, it has nothing to do with trying to prove something I'm not, and it has nothing to do with a mid-life crisis.

It has everything to do with FUN! I don't think I need to explain that driving a car like this, with the top down, is infinitely more fun than driving the family SUV or (God-forbid) the mini-van.

I worked very hard all of my life, including putting a 20-year Air Force career under my belt. While in the service, I studied hard to get an education (MBA in Information Systems) and I worked hard after leaving the service to get the job I currently have.

The results of my hard work and education allows me the luxury of affording a car like this while still maintaining a healthy savings account, maxed-out IRAs and 401k's, and a nice little house in surburban America. My wife will want for very little after I'm gone.

But in the same respect, a large part of my life is spent getting MRI's and CT scans done to see how my cancer is progressing. More time is spent evaluating x-rays and blood tests to make sure my other bodily functions are still in-check. And after dealing with all that crap day-in and day-out, getting into the Vette washes all that shit to the side. At least until I get home and "life" resumes.

And FUCK YOU to that driver whose picture was posted earlier. There is no way in hell I would ever consider parking like that.

NICE car. This is the ONLY Vette that I've liked the looks of as well as the '62 I had way back when.

Edit: And man, I sure can relate how a ride can change your perspective of things. I remember back when I had my Norton Commando. I could come how from work all stressed out but after a 5 to 10 minute ride on my Norton, I came home feeling like I took a few tranqs with a small dose of coke. :D

Oh and fuck people who abuse disabled parking spaces. Like the spaces for van accessible vehicles only for people that side load wheelchairs using lifts and such. Some people with regular cars and disabled permits use these spaces anyways because they have a pass and feel they are entitled to use any disabled space and don't care about the further restriction not realizing that someone with a whole lot more disability than them really needs that spot. Or they take the spaces designated for pregnant women only. I am considering getting into volunteer parking enforcement because of these kinds of people.

Although the convertible is my wife's I will say this in defense of what lwein said 'When she decided on that car my heart skipped a beat and the first time I got to drive it I felt like a 16 year old again.' Always wanted one since I was old enough to drive. Not once did the size of my penis enter my mind. Actually I would liken it more to the feeling the old geezers got in the movie Cocoon when they were running around like kids. So yeah - not compensating so much as experiencing another high of sorts. Although I do have to admit that the first time I stomped on the gas and the car growled at me it did hit me a little in the penis.:rofl:

I believe that the survey is skewed because I was never polled (pardon the pun). Had they asked me I would have caused them to add another response 'Stand back a few feet and let me show you' which would have skewed the percentages afterwards..........a lot :rockon:

That goes for windows 8 too. Who designed that crap????? Glossy new surface, same old windows bs. Nothing's natural. Have to hop through myriad windows hoops because they simply don't get the concept of computing efficiency. It's like "how many clicks would you like to do before you get to use your computer for what you want? 10? 15? Maybe a warning or two?" My mac's still running on an older os so maybe I won't update.

I use inline filters on everything I can, my new weapon is stabil so the gas doesn't go bad in the carb. The main problem seems to be the amount of time they sit between starts, the gas gums up when it goes bad and that's the end of reliability. But I tell ya what, I have two vehicles with computers and fuel injectors and two with no computers and carburetors. The ones with computers and fuel injectors always fucking start, definitely can't say that about the carbureted ones. My dodge needs a new rochester quadracrap, but I have a rebuild kit that I will be deploying soon. I would love to put a big holly on it but would have to change the manifold and linkage and more; I'm leaning towards selling this rig so might as well keep the engine stock.

How true @t-dub. There's so much toxic crap in food these days that mess with the human body it's scary. Sensitive people have been feeling the ill affects for decades. But I'll tell you where you see it most these days: kids. The brains etc. of most adults were well enough developed by the time all the processed foods started making up the majority of our diets that we could manage. Today's kids haven't had the luxury of developing before being exposed to all the crap. They're "developing" on some nasty toxic foods. And suffering some consequences.

FUCK LOSING THINGS. I had my wallet in my pocket this morning and now it's gone. Retraced all my steps an still can't find it. I really don't want to have to go through the hassle of getting anew drivers license and cc's. Fuck fuck fuck where are you wallet. To make matters worse it's a shade of brown that blends in very well with the last of the fallen leaves.to Sum it up my wallets hiding and it has great camouflage:doh:

Good news though I found it ! Slick bastard was tucked under the lawn mower( seat )I moved.
