FROLIC by Limelight Herb

Because this heater is so powerful and can keep up with any draw, I sometimes feel an on-demand session is like smoking a joint.
That to me is a reason I have a harder time sharing vapes with people who only know Js and bongs. They pull too hard or not long enough for the vapes to really kick in..my Roffu is great but letting someone have a few puffs at a gathering is usually rather disappointing. The crafty is a lot more forgiving due to conduction but also not ideal. The Dynavaps work, but the process looks strange to people who are not familiar

It sounds like this would make the frolic also a lot easier to share with?

Just had another really great on-demand sesh at 400F. Great flavor. I'm getting better at knowing when to kill the heater and clear the hit.

Looking at the AVB just now, I'm impressed with how uniform it always is. Very even roasts from this oven. Not seeing any hotspots.
I experienced the same uniform AVB in a TM capsule. I maybe got 2-3 good hits, but the first was weak at a lower temp (maybe 350F/177C) in session mode. Switched to demand and pushed to 440F (227C) and crushed it. I will pay more attention and try lower temps next time. How low/high are you all going?

@Dejan LimelightHerb It's starting to sound like the Frolic really shines with capsules! Do you have any plans to offer some that are just the right size for it, maybe in nice anodized aluminum or some other resistant/safe material?

Thanks

Check this out, sounds like minor changes to allow S&B capsules to fit https://fuckcombustion.com/threads/frolic-by-limelight-herb.56172/post-1859497

some report that theirs just fit. Or fit with a small gap of the CU but that gap not impacting performance

the gold coated SS caps from airvape are going to be hard to beat. threads are a deal breaker, forget alu.,
easy empty/reload is an absolute must.

I'm with you on avoiding aluminum (especially if it's not anodized), but S&B caps don't have threads and are decently easy to empty and reload. Or are you referring to something else?

do they fit without the cap and perfectly without any modification? will order those if they good to go
They do fit perfectly without the cap. With the cap they'll still work with a tiny gap but I find now I like using them without the cap.

In session mode I'm liking 370F. In on-demand you get good low-temp hits as low as 385F and solid regular hits anywhere from 400-440F depending on how fast you want your extraction.

Does the caplessness affect the cleanliness of cu alot? I like that capsules keep everything more clean
I maybe haven't had the unit long enough to know for sure but I really don't think it will. Usually when I'm done a session all the AVB is still in the capsule with maybe some tiny bits on the CU screen but hardly anything. I brush off the CU screen and blow hard through it and that's it. I've never noticed any flower bits up inside the CU when I've looked inside. Since the AVLP capsules are flat on top you're also not losing any oven space for your bowl.

For sure things would be marginally better with a cap top in place (which you can still do - the gap is tiny) but I think protecting the oven from particles or dripping resin is the most important thing and the capsule bottom does this. Also, there is a benefit to having the top of the capsule open for airflow since the Frolic's power is overwhelmingly from convection.

The s&b caps also have lots of variance in height, just with how thin and formable they are. I’m quite confident capsules will fit which had lots of usage. It takes little to indent them

and here I took it to an extreme, a quick attempt if the caps can be made to fit with some force

I don’t want to make all the talk just about the caps, but it seems like everything else is just good

Here's some pics to illustrate better.

Agree 100%.

I've already shared the Frolic with some friends and yes, it is definitely easier to share. If your friends like to rip it hard, then I would pick an on-demand sesh somewhere >=430F. They'll get more clouds than they can handle, and even with a short draw the cloud will be respectable. Basically tell them to push the button and hit it like a cart.

Damn you, @Dejan LimelightHerb! Here I was, enjoying my VAS free life, and then YOU come along with your damn device and your very open, pleasant and transparent presence here on the forum.

Order placed. Sooo looking forward to receiving it.
If it helps, I am scum of the earth, only my mother loves me and that's because she's afraid.

P.S. I will be less buried and go through all the comments if I missed something and to harvest the feedback. I will also update you on the redesigned CU segment and how we will distribute those in the most effective and cost efficient way possible. My current idea was, since we will release an abundance of accessories amongst which are the capsules, and assuming most will order these, to tag along the said part free of charge. Again, not feeling like I owe anyone anything since this feature was not advertised anyway, just trying to be fair and support back the people who trusted and supported us, that I do owe you.

I'm on day 2 with the Frolic and wow. Kicks ass in all regards. The portable I've been wanting and waiting for has finally arrived! Got 13 bowls out of it and gave it a charge as it had done 2 or 3 bowls showing 1 bar of battery, so its got enough juice to take me through a whole day just about! The vapor is great and everything about the device feels solid and well designed.

Just tried with the foldout (really swingout, it doesn't fold) mouthpiece and I think the right angle in the MP might cool the vapor even more. I am very pleased with this device. Especially the attention to design and detail.
