Friends hate vape

I've recently purcgased my first vape. The Flowermate mini pro. I personally love the thing. Reduced smell and a nice clean uplifting high. My friends on the other hand are fairly new to cannabis in general and complain they don't get high at all. While Ive got the highest tolerance there and I'm baked. Could they really not be getting high or are they just not letting it happen. Any advice appreciated.

Well you should start hating your combusting friends, and problem is solved! :DI hope that sounded like a joke..
Combusters love lung bursting hits, also please have in mind that their taste receptors are burned, and they dont appreciate the taste as much as we do. That being said ,my gf had classic FM with one heat setting, and it was a very shitty vape, poor taste, poor clouds, not full extraction.. and coming from big hitters,i found really hard time gettin high with it.. ,i doubt that is the case with the mini, but those ceramic chamber conduction portables, imo arent as efficient as the convection ones. Also people that combust as used to instant dense hit which is not the case with some of the vapes, where clouds begin after sucking sometime on something that those guys are incapable of appreciating ..
I think vape bonging is the key , have yet to meet a combuster that didnt like milking a percolated tube with my Logvapes or my Tubo :)) ... I recently found my12$ glass vapo-bowl,and it brought memories of how my combusting friends were praising above all other vapes i have.. cause it can be harsh as hell if you like it.. :D

If God is the answer, then the question is wrong
Also keep in mind that when you combust you inhale air without oxygen

This lack of oxygen is perceived like a danger by the brain that release adrenaline and IMO this enhances the overall experience (heart beating faster/ faster delivery of your goods) at expenses of health

sometimes it takes a few uses to get it with cannabis, smoking or vaping. I had a friend who recently started vaping (never smoked) and it took about four or five different sessions before he got 'high' and now knows what to look for. I've heard the same about smoking...that sometimes you don't get high the first few times. I guess I was one of the lucky ones who got it right the first time!

Not being there to see what is going on and not being able to talk to the others involved it really comes down to a guess. My guess is that folks are either not using the vape correctly and/or are looking for an experience too similar to the one they get from combustion. How to deal with those people and possibilities is even harder to comment on because we know even less about those people and their situations then you do.

Imo simulating combustion experience is best for converting hardcore combusters.. So you need to give them, nose burn, sore throat and runny eyes.. Also they need to see thick vapor ,so overheating to few blocks before combustion park.. can be helpful. Second if the vaporizer is flame powered that adds to the experience ,and third ,if it is easy to use and they can do it by themselves with much assistance and learning curves :)). I imagine that the Supreme ,and the sticky bricks type of vapes are the best choice :)) !
Imo vaporizing lacks the masochistic experience of smoking at normal vape temps :D...

Indeed, vaping in front of some engine exhaust smoke could be a simple way :)

Seriously, have showed vapes to many friends, every one recognized the better taste, the nice experience (only some noticed throat dryiness (solo-mflb mainly) but all of them feel vaping is only that, a funny activity: back to roll a big smiling cigarette right after a solo stem, to feel the rush they miss in vaping

A good way to switch and fuckcombustion for good IME is to make a t-break when stopping smoking (a week at least)

^^^ this. My supreme always fucks up combusters big time. They always kind of like my other vapes that they try (then roll a joint or light a bowl)... not with the supreme, that stops them in their tracks.
That big hit, extracted quickly at reasonably high temps is what's needed imo.

Sometimes it's the prep and technique that turns off a noobie. Combusting doesn't require someone to moderate their inhalation and the instant gratification from blowing that blue smoke out is "visually" undeniable.

The FlowerMate Mini Pro, being a conduction vape, may need a little time between each draw to heat soak the herb to give a noobie the best hit possible.

I can almost hear the uninitiated saying .... there's hardly anything to see on exhale (when compared to a joint or torched bong hit). Surely this won't get me high. Why do I have to wait a few seconds and inhale slower. This sucks! End result.....mentally they're not fully buzzed because they fight it and if you're doing a Sativa-ish herb they aren't getting the strong body blow from a vape.

If you could milk up some glass for them so they get a visual before exhaling and a slight lung tingle and the herb is top shelf - you could turn them around.

As @stickstones mentioned - are they really new to cannabis? The first time my Mom smoked a joint she said "I don't get what the big deal is. I don't feel anything. I'm really hungry though." :D

I honestly think most people have a real attachment with seeing big clouds. Ironically some of the most pleasing vapor has extremely low visibility. In regular light it will look like you didn't exhale anything, but behind LED lighting a huge smooth vapor cloud is suddenly visible.

I'm not sure exactly why this bothers you.

We all have our ways of taking in herbs. I have a friend who combusts and over the years I've given her an mflb, a flowermate and vapcap. She sometimes uses the vapcap. But she's used to using a small waterpipe and she just automatically heads for that. We've talked about it and she has no objection to vaping. It's just automatic for her to combust. So I just accept that I approach herbs differently from her. I also use more often so it probably doesn't impact her health the way combusting would mine. But regardless, I've talked about vaping and why and then I need to let her make her decisions whether I agree or not.

yeah i got a friend who likes my vape but still combust and he can pass a gram in the vape in an hour because he likes to blow clouds all over the place, wasting his weed like if it were on fire

personnaly i dont think i did much combustion since i have my vape. it went from 100% combustion to 5% in days and went down to 0% in a year, however i stopped hanging out with fellow joint smokers. ive invited them to vape at my place but only half of em switched to vaping. the other half or so still loves to tar themselves up

funnily enough, i think most smokers fear they will miss smokes effects (whats not in vapour) but everytime i get near combustion in my vape i recognized that old taste and it doest make me want to come back to it... also, most must refuse to buy a vape because 1. theres too much choice, impossible to make a choice easily... 2. they fear they will waste money on a device they wont use. 3. they may be short on money because smoking does cost alot more that vaping would. the dont realise the investment part 4. they dont acknowledge vaping as a way to fully enjoy weed (out of pure ignorance)

I had the same issue. Most of it was due to a poor device. IE, my first vape was a joke. Next was a flowermate v5.0s which got better praise but still dismissed heavily. It wasn't until I got an Evo they stopped going for their bowls when they came over. They also say the Pax is good, but since they still combust, their bodies associate asphyxiation symptoms with being high, which takes time to get over when you are using both methods.

I have a lot of friends and family who hate the vape for all the reasons stated above. I need to invest in some of those hard hitting vapes. I have one person in mind who if I could blow his brains out with a hard hitter that would be so funny. I'm just the opposite due to being asthmatic. I cannot do the hard hitters.

Yeah... all of the above and people are generally resistant to change. I've tried with many friends using different vapes over the years.

What I've found works best is to get them a VapCap (M now, OG in past) and a jet lighter, and make sure they know how to use it. Some of the things mentioned above and others (use of flame, can produce thicker clouds depending on heating, similar to joint in hand) seem to help a little more from the psychological perspective.

The other thing that helps is to show them how they will use 1/4 (or less) material than they are smoking. $75 (or more) a 1/4 every month, instead of $75 every week, can be quite a selling point! Of course you have to show them they are getting high - at least somewhat - first.

problems lies at the lungs : a smoker for too long doesnt have lungs

but also a part of any drug high is the context. getting a burned taste in the mouth can take a lot of space in the context that makes tha high for a seasonned smoker. that taste means high.

I was vaping with some smokers today and figured it out. I had my vaporizer set at a modest temperature to preserve the bowl for the group session, instead of having it cranked and fouling the load in one rip. Nobody thought they were getting anything. The lightness in the lungs (vapor being less dense than smoke) the smoothness, the coolness; all those things we love, make a smoker think the vape isn't working lol.

Honestly it's unfortunate that people think they need to go through such discomfort to medicate. A lot of people seriously don't feel like they even catch a buzz without coughing a lung out.

This thread is very interesting to start well in vaporization. Thanks you @everyone !

All these points of view help to better understand how the effects of cannabis are different from the effects of combustion.

It may seem obvious, but we should talk more about tolerance.

To show the powers of vaporization, wake'n bake works well ;)
