Found suspected plastic in flowers from legal medical delivery service; etiquette?

I got an ounce of flowers from a legal medical delivery service. So far in this ounce I've found two tiny little white discs, perfectly round (NOT seeds), a couple mm in diameter, and when you drop them onto a surface they sound like plastic when they land. I definitely ended up taking at least one vape hit of one of them. Haven't combusted flowers in a long time, so luckily I didn't smoke any plastic.

I'm hesitant to simply terminate my business relationship with this service as they have the best prices in my area and minus this issue I was satisfied with the flowers. What do you think the proper etiquette and smart decision is here for me? Should I ask for some free product, and if so, what's a fair request? I chose to ask FC because the demographic here seems very mature. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

I would ask for a replacement ounce. Luckily you noticed that.

To clarify, I just found the two plastic bits today and I'm down to the bottom of the ounce, so the entire ounce wasn't full of plastic bits. Would you still ask for a replacement ounce?

No. I would be careful the next time. I think I would be afraid of what else I might find? If it happens again I definitely would say something. Or stop buying products from them completely. If you don't have faith in what they are selling it's not worth the cost savings.

You are ingesting the vapor into your lungs. You need to be careful.

Truth is, you get what you paid for. Sometimes it is best to check your meds before letting them go. In terms of what you should do, I'd say let it slide as I don't think it was in there on purpose. Unless it weighs heavy I'd say they put them in to meet the scale.

let it slide
I absolutely have to mention it to the delivery service. It's an issue their grower and packager should clearly both be made aware of for the safety of other patients, not just myself. Question is here, is it fair for me to ask for a specific amount in return, or should I just mention it and not ask for anything, and likely get something free in return as a good faith gesture anyways, I imagine? What would you do, FC?

I agree with what @CarolKing said above. I would probably give them another chance but would definitely bring it to their attention as well because they will probably want to know (Maybe they won't depending on the business).

Either way if you do buy from them again, inspect the product very carefully especially before you grind the bud (It would probably be harder to notice the plastic if it were to be ground).

If it happens again I definitely would say something.

I'd say something right away, not only for your benefit, but for theirs as well as future customers. They may not be aware of the problem and they can't correct it from happening again unless they are made aware.

Also, I wouldn't ask for any replacement or money reimbursement. I'd just lay it out for them. If they are a reputable dispensary, they will offer you some kind of compensation in the form of money or free bud. If they don't, I would change dispensaries.

Definitely bring it to their attention, but I also wouldn't ask for a replace or reimbursement.

As stated above, I would also look around for a different dispensary if it were to happen again.

Great Scott!
Back in the day people used to use silicone to weigh down weed because it is "relatively" safe compared to other things they could use. Totally scummy but its possible some still do it.

Airsoft BB maybe? Those things get everywhere like glitter. I would let them know what you found and how you feel about it.

I agree. You need to tell them. Maybe others had something in theirs? I remember the old black market days ( not that far away). I would have to inspect the goods before combusting. Before the vaping days. There were times when things would taste a little nasty while burning and smell off. There was something other than herb in the bag. I've seen things like hair and lint in black market herb and who knows what else that I didn't see. A few times some gross tasting stuff.

you found two small bits of plastic at the bottom of an ounce... how do you know they didn't fall into the bag/jar/whatever after you took possession of it? how long has it taken you to vape the ounce? how many times do you think you have opened the bag/jar/whatever up?

just advocatin'

I would mention it to them but I wouldn't ask for anything. and like always thoroughly inspect product during the transaction

Any truly legit shop would NEVER purposely try and bulk up their product with BS, they are in the business of making you happy and a regular loyal customer is truly where it's at in this business.

The growers who shops have to buy from however do try and pull the shadiest shit I have seen in my life, more often than I care to admit.

Contact the dispensary and let them know, don't be a dick about it tho and if you can try and weigh them and see how much weight your talking about.

Like others have said chances are they will do their best to make it right.

The delivery service hooked me up with an extra free gift and a bit of a discount for reporting the problem and I didn't have to ask. I was told they've since switched suppliers since I bought the contaminated batch since they weren't happy with the quality of their last supplier even before this happened. Thanks for all of the advice, everyone.
