Lots of dealers are motivated by greed, and spraying a quarter pound of bud with an ounce is an easy way to make a couple hundred bucks. Fucking drug dealers, can we please legalize and have some standards in our dealings before someone snaps and caps another dealer?
Don't get me wrong, many dealers are great people, but the bad ones should be strung up by their testicles.
I get your point, but believe it exists on both sides of the fence. I see dispensaries charging as much as 1/3 more $ than street value for the same or lower quality meds. I have seen overly moist meds at dispensaries. If the state gets a cut of profits (tax), isn't that an added expense to the consumers?
Many times, the black market fills a void created by unjust laws and stupid or evil governments. Most people growing and selling legally today, were growing and selling illegally yesterday. All of these great strains and grower experience didn't happen overnight once legalization occurred.
I think in most cases like this, the smoke was never dried enough in the 1st place. If it wasn't dried properly, there definitely wasn't any cure.
Smokum - growers who rely on finishers are usually compensating for either inexperience or poor strain choice. Under the proper growing conditions, you should not need to 'convince' flowers to harden. Good chance the culprit is insufficient light output. A guy w/ a 400w lamp isn't going to be as successful as an equally skilled grower w/ a 1000w lamp.
That said, sweet is a decent (not organic) product whose ability to "harden" flowers is only incidental. It's main function is to create cellular division, which in turn makes for lusher growth. To this end, I believe it works better in veg than flower - unless your goal is just to increase sugar production.
Meds that are 'too' dried out always taste way too harsh for me. I like just enough moisture to retain the slightest pliability. If the quality of my vapor is improved (imo) using .3 instead of .2, I am ok w/ that.
