Still loving this unit. For awhile I was using the purple setting exclusively but lately I'll run on blue until I stop producing vapor and then switch it up to red.

I don't think so. Out-gassing should happen only to new devices and I've been told it's not the polyimide tape itself but rather the glue that we could smell when new. The bowl wires are properly insulated and should be fine too.
You need of course to use the right jack plug size: 3.5x1.35mm male plug.

I think it was just the abv bits stuck in the chamber screen . I'm amazed at how much vapor it can produce , I did like 5-6 burn offs and I could still see vapor rising when I shined a bright light on it . The taste of the vapor was like abv so I didn't worry too much after a while , I was just unsure cause I'm new to vaping . I opened the unit up and I saw the bottom of th oven was pretty dirty with abv , and no tape or wires was burned . I won't underestimate what's left in the abv again lol

I just picked up a smoke buddy Jr off eBay for $9ish shipped. Works perfectly for me, but I can't speak for longevity yet.

I find I don't really have a problem with smell if I do the LIT technique ,where after u take a draw , u exhale very slightly and inhale quickly then hold for 5-10 seconds and then repeat when u feel like u need more air,u should see very little vapor on exhale and u intake a bit more fresh air everytime on the inhale, this way you can hold the draw longer than just holding your breath because of the small amount of air you take on each time, and the breathing action help your lungs to absorb the vapor better than just holding your hits, I do this until I can't see any more vapor on exhale, I feel this way helps u conserve more bud cuz you would be using less to get more baked and there is very minimal smell cause most of the vapor is absorbed, do this in the bathroom near the air intake fan and there will even less smell. Man I love the benefits of vaping more and more , no more going outside in the cold to sneak a toke lol

so i noticed the green light in the cooling holes on both sides of the device that notify you that it is on has turned from green to orange lately. I originally thought it was due to low battery, but even when I fully charge it, it remains orange. Is this an issue or something I shouldn't worry about?

Normal. Light shining through the tape from the sili part of the chamber. It looks orange now because there is use on your unit. Shine a light down in the chamber and look at "cooling holes" then. It will make sense to you.
Pinnacle Water tool. Look it up
you can soak them or wipe them down with ISO depending how gunked up they are.

Having owned a PAX, Ascent, and now a Flowermate, as well as having tried several other both portable and not vaporizers, the names of which escape me at this moment for some reason..., I find the Flowermate to be the easiest on maintenance and amongst the easiest to operate.
It automatically shuts off after roughly 10 minutes. It occurs when your batch is mostly fried. Although I do appreciate maximizing the battery life, I also like spread my sessions out over a lengthy period of time and would prefer for it to cook only while I am inhaling.
The biggest downside for me is that it does not produce a thick or strong vapour. Thick vapour can be quite enjoyable and I don't like not having the ability to produce it, either through higher temperatures or by the reduced number and frequency of drags.
Overall, it is a solid Vapourizer for those people and places where a quick and stealthy and high is preferred.
Recently I have been noticing the vapor getting wispier and taking about 1/2 hour to get a good extraction. I have tried getting the bottom screen out for months to clean it. Finally after about 1/2 hour of having the unit on and trying to get the screen out it came out! Out of the 50 holes or so there were only 6 open. After a major cleaning I can't even believe how well this unit functions again (seems better than new).
Note I had tried cleaning with qtips and iso etc. Nothing worked as well as taking out the screen and cleaning it in iso/hotwater. I can't even believe the vapor I am getting now as it's actually to intense and I have to hold back.
Moral of the story keep that bottom screen clean!

I'm not sure what the thing I used is called but it's a screwdriver with a very point sharp tip. A metal bbq skewer with a pointy tip etc might work. Something strong staight and pointy that can stick in one of the screens holes to get the leverage needed.
The action was not prying but instead using leverage and the pointy tip to get the screen to start rotating. It took a lot of working back and forth but eventually it became free.
I think this should be done with the unit on to melt any sticky stuff on there. It was seriously stuck in there good and even with the unit hot was nearly impossible to get the screen to budge.
Also once I had the screen out I bent a little corner up so it will not be such a PITA to remove next time.
The action was not prying but instead using leverage and the pointy tip to get the screen to start rotating. It took a lot of working back and forth but eventually it became free.

Also, you can put in some organic cotton and vape it.

so there is no way around just putting straight concentrates in? what about kief?
I have a couple left over "oil cans" from my original Davinci and they fit perfectly after filing down about 1mm of the bottom and also drilling the hole a but larger. Have been experimenting with them for flowers just to keep the bowl and bottom screen clean and it's working well with no problem getting clouds.

Can you take a picture of the bottom screen removed? I don't even know how I would remove that bottom screen without breaking my Flowermate bro.
