It honestly sounds like too much of a coincidence. I have had Lyme for 13 years following a simple tick bite in 2004.
However the mainstream medical establishment is building strong reputation for massively failing to accurately diagnose Borrelia, and very heavily criticised for remaining stubbornly ignorant of the reality, let alone prevalence, of chronic Lyme disease. So seriously dont rely on them for an accurate diagnosis.
