Fiberglass for Pipe Screen - Bad idea?

Fiberglass or fiberglass matting... the pure industrial white stuff, not pink house insulation. Thoroughly washed and dried before use. Is this a good idea or a bad idea for a bowl screen for vaping? Why?

You ever have an aquarium? If so, have you ever changed the glass wool in the filter while sitting on your bed....and then spending a night tossing an turning because you have a bed full of glass splinters.

So, in that light....ask your question again.

Are you aware you are supposed to wear a particulate respirator when working with fiberglass because of the consequences from inhaling fibers? They will embed into your lungs.

In no way should you ever attempt to breathe through fiberglass.

Better try to make a spiral out of wire and use it as a screen. Clothes ropes are usually stainless.
Alternatively you can cut some tea/flour strainer ).

What is available in the way of a glass disc screen or plate?
I've looked at glass and quartz fritted discs, pretty expensive and I'm not sure the draw will be good. Glass disc pore plate screens made for pipe bowls are commonly available up to about 9mm, 12mm are rare... and nothing larger seems available. Would LOVE to find those in 18 or 19mm!
I'm wanting this for FlowerPot use, currently using Titanium screens but would REALLY like glass instead if I can find something that works. Because it's for the FlowerPot, glass jacks and sea mines won't work.

Being in construction I've breathed in enough insulation over the years to insulate a large house LOL... that stuff is everywhere old and new on the job sites... thankfully there is spray foam now that is less irritating...

But plus 1000 to degummed hemp fiber or organic cotton... they are best used in a vape... it is called hemp wicking too

Yeah definitely don't mess with fiberglass of any type.

You could always contact a reputable glassblower about making a few custom screens and see if they feel like they can accommodate.

I highly recommend @Oregonglassblower. I have purchased from him several times and am a very big fan.
