Fall is in the Air - Does Fall visit Where You Live?

I am on the Columbia River, just across from Portland, OR. Gangs of Canadian Geese are appearing more often overhead in their "V"ictory salutes, honking wildly. The tops of some deciduous trees are yellowing: colors really change in the Columbia Gorge, 30 miles East.

Yes. I adore the autumn out here in Appalachia. My favorite time of year…

I also love fall and it's gorgeous here in Michigan. Our leaves are already starting to turn and the farmers are predicting another heavy duty winter. But the crispness in the air is heavenly. Nothing beats eating an apple outside on a fall day.

My family had a cottage on Young's Lake by Big Rapids MI. I have many fond memories from my time spent there. Used to go every year. During the fall visits, I remember collecting turned leaves and preserving them in contact paper.

Oh man, I am so jealous of you. I'm a waterfowl hunter that has been living in a desert for the past twenty years. I have to travel a while before I could find "V's" of Canada Geese flying over head. I live in beautiful Las Vegas Nevada and here we get two seasons cold and REALLY F*&%IN HOT:cuss:! There is a brief span of time between the Hot where it's just nice and warm during the day and cools down at night but that only last for about three weeks. Hopefully once my kids are done with school I can move somewhere that has a real four seasons throughout the year and huge V's of Canada geese flying.

I am who I am and your approval isn't needed!
Preceding 4-5 mos of messy, bitter cold hell :disgust: But ya... Fall 'is' a beautiful time of year here

Anybody else sick of Corn On The Cob yet ?? :ugh:

I'm in northern Cali and our weather has been all over the place this year. I think it confused the plants because I have yucca plants that are blooming and three large mulberry trees that are dropping leaves. :bang: I love fall I prefer the cold I love the color change in the trees but most of all I love the harvest time that's right around the corner. My outside girls are getting close. :brow:

I live close to a golf coarse and we get geese taking a bit of a rest there in route to where ever they're going. Love their honking.......

We get a tiny little bit of the fall tree beauty here but not much.

One year, I visited Virgina in the fall. Wow.....:o

Edit: Want some eye candy? Goggle "Virgina Fall" and bring up images.

A drive down the Blue Ridge Parkway in the Autumn is bucket list worthy, IMO.

Wikipedia: "Blue Ridge Parkway" said:
The parkway, which is America's longest linear park, runs for 469 miles (755 km) through twenty-nine Virginia and North Carolina counties, mostly along the Blue Ridge, a major mountain chain that is part of the Appalachian Mountains.

As some of you know, I live in Wales. So I consider myself very fortunate to live in a country with four seasons - including autumn - or fall as you guys over the pond like to call it.... :) It's just a pity that all 4 of those seasons are typically characterised by rain here - it just falls at different temperatures!!! :D

Seriously though, I'm a lover of all seasons, & autumn has most definitely arrived. I just love its light and smell. I'm also really looking forward to the migratory birds returning soon. I'll be on the lookout for a friendly blackbird who has visited me the last 2 years - Cilla - she's so tame. She sings to get my attention through the window - & she's an absolute sucker for raisins!

I cant remember the last time I saw real snow. So no, we dont have actual seasons here... just parts of the year where it can actually dip down into the 50s at night! I hate having to wear long pants and shoes. Fuck that! ....wait, what thread is this?
