Extreme Q Broke, Looking For Something Better - Plenty Vape?

I had my Q for about 5 years, the heating element cover broke again (too rough with it, stuck glass bowl). Repairable, but old and worn out anyways. I liked it but I don't like what I've heard about the dirty air path. I also only ever used it for whip vaping so I want something that's great at that.

Don't want to spend more than $300. Is the Plenty the best option if I'll only be doing whip vaping? Couple used ones on e-bay for $225, Extreme Q is only $150 on e-bay, could just rebuy that.

Other vapes I'm considering:
Vapir Rise
SSV (I had one before I had my Q but it broke on me too easily. I didn't like having to hold it up while vaping either... but maybe some of that has been fixed?)
The "VapeXhale Cloud EVO" appeals to me but seems really expensive esp with the attachments.

I really want to be able to vape concentrates in the vape as well, so the Vapir Rise is really appealing in that way. But I think the Plenty can do this as well and is also a better whip vape?

Any advice welcome! Thanks! Really leaning towards the plenty but open to anything good.

Why? Because it's made by S&B? If you compare it to the popularity of their other models, it doesn't really shine.

Why not the DBV

Given the choice of these two (for free), I'd take the DBV without a 2nd thought. OTOH, if you've really researched the Plenty and like it a lot, it'll give you good service. Lots of good models to choose from these days, so it comes down to finding the one that suits you best.

A user in the EQ thread replaced his EQ heater cover with a 18mm male to male adapter that you get for free with most bubblers on DHGate. If you have one laying around or feel like picking up a bubbler.

I'd repair the EQ, that is your cheapest option. You used it for 5 years w/o any issues, why change unless you are looking for something different?

Have you thought about the LSV? Same price as the DBV and cheaper than the SSV. The Metal Heater Vent is removable so you can fit any HC you want, the LSV (which is a GG/SGG combo), SSV Standard, GG, or SGG. Just another idea for ya.

Aren't those two both examples of a direct draw vape? Or do you mean something like the MFLB? I don't like the MFLB at all but if there's a better version I'd look into it. Anyways, the angled heater cover on the SSV is much better than the DBV's design. I'd take the annoyance of holding it over that. edit: I guess you could change the HC on the DBV but that defeats the purpose?

Sure, that's part of the reason. I like the way it works, and the large surface area for herb plus the fact that you can vape concentrate are big selling points for me. I pack a lot of herb at once, which is hard with the EQ. It looks durable, too. The reviews I've read/watched have been pretty positive, what makes it lackluster? I want to hear the negative on this thing.

My EQ is really worn out - makes an electronic buzzing noise until you tap it and then it inevitably comes back, fan is incredibly weak, and compared to my girlfriends new EQ it didn't seem to be reflecting an accurate temperature. Her new EQ is nicer to use, tastes better too. Makes more sense to get a new one if I was going to stick with it. I've recently read some things about lead/chemicals in the airflow pathway in the EQ, which makes me hesitant to buy another. Anyways, I really want something that I can vape concentrate with & pack more herb at once in. I could use a bubbler though, repair this as a bonus and then give it away...

Love the idea & flexibility of the LSV but I'd break some part of that thing within the first month of ownership I guarantee it.

Calling the plenty a whip vape has always struck me as stretching it a bit IMO since that metal cooling coil thing stays in a fixed position and you have to use that trigger thing to get a hit while you hold it in your hand and raise the whole vape to your face instead of just sitting back taking hit's off the whip like you would with your EQ.

I like the DBV's design more then the SSV myself and never saw a real advantage to the angled SSV heater cover if your going to use it hands free, also never liked the heavy cord coming out of what i always saw as the front of the SSV. (i know the ssv has a better air/vapor ratio but still like the dbv better). Since you seem to want a dedicated whip style vape I would say your kind of limited right now to getting a DBV or SSV or even an ol' Vapor brothers box.

I still don't believe any of the multi-use vapes like the EQ, HA(which i liked with the whip myself) or the RISE will really compare to the performance of a dedicated wand/whip like the ssv, dbv or VB.

I still love and use my Vapolution 2 and my Epicvape EV-2 with a whip a few nights a week and can say if my EV-2 ever bites the dust I'll replace it with a DBV and I hope to always own a working vapolution.

Owlie, if your not in a hurry, you might want to check out the classifieds. With all the sales over 4/20 I'm sure there are some good used vape deals out there.

I bought a used ssv without a wand, from a garage sale. Since I added a gg wand and water tool. Ground glass is advertised as hands free, and while I still remove the wand between hits, I leave it in for water hits and it works hands free just fine. I'm actually very impressed with the vape quality. Although I'm new to whips and I'm not sure how I'll like them over time.

For maintainence I doubt you can beat a log, there is really not much to do, other than clean stems. I love my enano. But it is small, and I might do two loads to get where one load might do in another vape. So it's not really a party vape, like say a volcano. But unlike a volcano, it's very efficient.

And for an all in one vape you might want to look at a mighty. It is expensive but can be a do it all type vape. What ever you choose, happy vaping!

I advise against getting a VapirRise for concentrates or anything but flowers. It's a nice unit but it tops off at 215 Celcius (420F).

You can fill that chamber, plug a few D020 bubblers in the 4 players adapter, and have a lot of fun! I'm not ditching the unit at all, it rocks.
