Hello! Long time since last contact with you my FC Forum friends. I have been out of commission for many months now - when my beloved dog Riker died a few months ago it traumatically gutted me right down to the core and I've not functioned well since. Riker was my everything. I have lost many beloved furry soulmates in the past but each loss gets worse for me as they are really my sole circle of life ...and that is getting ever smaller, now with two feline soulmates remaining. I hope to soon reestablish myself here on FC with more exotic wood selections.

Hang in there, man! And, when you might be ready don't forget there are many great furry friends out there who could really use a loving owner like you. Took me almost 18 months to be ready after my last loss (he was the BEST dog of my life without a doubt), but the new guy was a rescue that wouldn't have been around too long if I didn't take him in. FWIW, I'm still not really over the one that passed after 5 years. Still get a little choked up thinking about it (like when hearing of other losses like yours), but helps to call my newer buddy over and have him jump into my lap and then play a little ball.

@Snappo I feel you brother. I have had some wonderful pet family members and the only downside is that we outlive them. You have to focus on the good memories to help you work through your grief. There is a whole extended family here on FC waiting for you with open arms. Funny I was just now holding two beautiful wood blocks that I got from you wondering what to make of them. That's when I remembered seeing your post notification. Welcome back.

Thank you all for your kindness and understanding. Recovering from losing Riker has been agonizingly slow, but I still must remain hopeful for silver linings and brighter days. Hope to be back in action and see you all soon.
