EVOLV Cricket

Yo @DJ Colonel Corn any word from Evolv on an updated version? Are you still in touch on the discord etc? Nothing excites me more than a v2 cricket as i'm just too picky for any devices presently on the market.
Hi @biohacker , there are currently no plans for a v2 or updates to the Cricket.
Yes, I am still in the Cricket discord ! Not much is happening there, for the past lil while.
The Cricket is a fine piece of machinery !
Do you have a Cricket ?
Apparently Evolv says they didn't sell so well, and they are expensive to make.
So, they aren't excited to make a v2.
If you DO have a Cricket, you can find wonderful themes for the Cricket here, with my favorite theme right here, or, download it directly HERE !
Get the v1.1 of that theme that I like. :)
Also, gotta say I love these little stands for the Cricket: The wooden boxes are available here and you have a choice of maple, cherry, or walnut !
Do you know the tricks for the cap ?
You can put the cap to the side connected to the bolt, it's magnetic, and will hold your cap to the side.
Or, you can do like I do , and get a tether for it. I use this : https://ineedhemp.com/product/2-rep...hers-for-the-bubble-carp-cap-for-core-erig-2/ , originally designed for the Core 2.0 .
I'll show you the box and the tether :

Pretty slick, if you ask me !
Thanks for the note, @biohacker !

I bet they would sell like hotcakes if they listened to some of our feedback/criticisms and just made a few small changes. The deal breaker for me was seeing not even what looked like reclaim, but actual oil under the tub. I tried my best to use tiny dabs, slow draw, etc. but at the end of the day I felt like I was wasting $75/g rosin. Also some black shit on my swabs that was coming off the silicone gasket turned me right off. I have no problem dropping $400 on something that absolutely blows me away, but at its current stage I feel like it wasn't beta tested enough and rushed to market.

Yeah I definitely think some of them had leaky welds. My first tub would have a lot of buildup underneath pretty quickly. My second one that I'm using now collects buildup much more slowly and I can use a significantly lower temp to get the hits I want. I think I've only cleaned under the second tub once or twice, and there's never been very much down there like there was with the first one.

Wow I didn't know this was a thing. I had a few of these Crickets and all were the same. This is exactly what I was referring to when I stated it felt like a bit of a beta run.

Dang. There is still a little bit that gets down there and needs to be cleaned, but I think it's mostly from creeping up and over the corners a bit, rather than melting through the welds.

I think this was ultimately my issue. It needed welds in the corners to make a proper seal. Oh well, i'll continue to daydream about a v2! Still a great device.
