Yes. Years ago I had a potters wheel. You take a lump of clay and throw it on the spinning wheel, aiming for the center. Then you use your hands, arms and basically your entire upper body strength to manipulate the clay as it spins. It is a wonderful, calming exercise.
I never had a kiln of my own, but a friend did. For years I made lovely bakers and dishes of various uses and design. I would love to take it up again.
