Discontinued Elevape smart 2.0 (ESV 2.0)

Many vapes & accessories. Always happy to help
hi guys,

received my ESV 2.0 a day ago and only had time and chance for a short test ride yet. But I can say: damn have I missed my little black magic box! Finally, I have my favorite stealthy out and about on-demand full convection portable back and in version 2.0. These super cool and delicious dry hits...:love:
Used it out of the box, no tweaking, adjusting anything.
Just set the first slide to temp 8 (which is around 290f /143C), just covered the screen with material and went for it. About 6-8 seconds later I knew again why I already loved the 1.0 (so yes, I'm biased in a way. How could I be not - once dialed in it was.wonderful:)). Steady draw, no flickering red light, everything super easy and convenient and perfect for out and about.
Admittedly, I love quite some vapes and each one for its own characteristics, signature and scenario. This one will definitely be my on the go stealth vape and replace my grasshopper that honestly couldn't fill that niche for me (WAY to hot and harsh, taste a level below and degrading early - I like to session. Thru water the GH is nice, but nothing for out about about for me). All I need to do to be fully stealthy is cover the red light when drawing, but when I palm it it's pretty nicely hidden already.
Perfect for hits movie theatres, when gaming and waiting for the next round (check out "rocket league", freaking much fun!) or pretty much everywhere outside when concealment is needed.

Battery runtime is supposed to have greatly improved on the 2.0 - for around 11-15 full draws it only used one bar, that looks very promising. Did 2 or 3 tap / knock in the hand "stirs" and had a uniform still green load (again, I was only at 290f, but I couldn't help but stay at that temp, too delicious and it kept staying at that level .. Very nice heady effects and God so tasty)

Of course, I will need way more time to give better and more reliable info, but I thought I'd let you guys know that this little powerblock is soon to come. This is the production model:

Have a nice weekend everyone!!
:peace:

@ Mods: Hope it's okay that I created a new thread for this one. This way it's tidy and like the FF2, PAXes etc.

Glad to see someone start this thread. I'm very curious to know if you get any vapor at the temp set to 8? I know a lot of people don't care about any visible vapor, but I'm curious. I don't seem to get any vapor at lower than about 12. It seems to depend a bit on how dry the herb is though.

Yeah, it is dependant on the moisture of the material and grind consistency.
If it's drier, you can try to grind finer

On 8 I did get slightly visible vapor after a few draws, all being incredibly tasty ! But with different lighting, I might haven't seen them..

Think it can also be a factor what lid you're using. I used the stock lid and then switched to @Vape Dr. s great bottlecap mod. Material doesn't stick that much to the screen, I find. But this also might vary with material and moisture.

After having started at 8, I was able to go pretty brown on 15, it was pretty dry at that point but I pulled some very nice clouds.

The battery runtime seems to really have improved big time. To be honest I lost count of draws I've taken and it's only down to 50%... My old one would have rather only show 2-3 bars being almost empty. Very impressive!

I'm using the bottlecap mod as well, I agree it works much better. Not nearly as much sticking and no heat sink from the screw.

Sometimes I get everything dialed in perfectly, but most of the time I'm getting some black burnt herb if I'm getting any visible vapor. I'm experimenting right now with drying my herb better before vaping it.

It kind of seems like the coil is still too close to the herb, but I can't lower it any lower.

When the light flickers it bums me out. I can't seem to get a good draw every time.

The things I love about it I think outweigh the things I don't, but I wish I could get it working right all the time.

So, I am starting to think about getting a battery powered vape for outdoor use mostly as my Milaana turned out to be quite sensitive to drops.
I am eyeing Pax 3 or the DaVinci IQ but I really like convection a bit more...
I just saw that ESV 2 is about to come out and I remember I was almost ready to pull the trigger on the first one when it first showed up but went for the FF instead cause of the mixed reviews there were about the ESV...
Now I see the battery life must have been improved and I guess other details must have been dealt with as well.
Would you guys think it's durable as well and could survive a light drop or more or the Pax and IQ could be sturdier? I know the IQ is just out but I'd love to hear some guesses...

I am really tired of sending vapes in to get fixed. And I really can't afford it! Just need a durable, stealthy, nice vapor pumping little thing for when out and about that will last for a while...

Hell, yeah! This thing is a tank!!! Light drop is a piece of cake - even if you scratched full force it would be only cosmetical surface damage. I'd almost guess you could use the ESV for baseball - but that would be bad, cause this one's a too damn fine stealth portable on demand instant vapor full convection top taste vape. So yeah, why not go for it? :D ;)
To be honest, I hope there will be some more around here that can share their experiences! :)

EDIT: durable too. Greatly improved runtime and you can replace the coils yourself, never needed to though with my old one. And if you ever had a problem with it, the fantastic Joe will go above and beyond to help you. so two thumbs up! :)

Cheers!

Yeah, my OG ESV isn't working. Last time I had it repaired, it crapped out almost immediately. I had a lot going on, so I stuck it in a drawer and forgot about it for a few months. Now they want $50 to fix it. I'll accept that I should have spoken up right away, but I've never been truly satisfied with it, so I don't have any interest in spending more cash on it.

I wish they had a trade-in program, so I could try a 2.0 without breaking the bank. As we're now seeing good vapes for half the price, I'm not interested in testing the 2.0 at full price. Maybe I'm just cheap.

just placed my order for the 2.0  The first ESV was one of the vapes i always wanted but always holded off on getting because of different reasons. After hearing about the 2.0 and the new improvements i just couldnt hold off. The idea of perfect temp control in a small portable device that utilizes pure convection heating and is the only true on demand vape on the market, i mean correct me if I am wrong but every other vape even my beloved Milaana requires a button press at the very least. If this vape can live up to what it should be, the esv with out any of the bugs, improvements to the unit and improvements to the app. It sounds like it could Basically the eaisiest to use, fastest and most discrete on demand convection vape that exists.. im fucking exited lol  VAS may be fucked after this thing... idk what can beat it? @RelaxedNow idk what you think about the price of the mighty or crafty or even the firefly 2 but if you dont think the tech in the elevape makes it worth more than those units than idk what to say  this thing looks like its worth more than any other portable just from looking at the materials and tech inside it. Cant wait for this thing to come so i can finally have that vape that is always ready to go at a moments notice. I have always wanted a vape that was ready in an instant and easy enough to use that anyone could get a good hit. i think i found it  @natural farmer if you are looking for a durable vape idk if you can find one much more durable than this one. There is actually a post back in the original elevape thread of my buddy with his big ass chevy truck parked on top of it. He put in between two 2 X4 s and ran it over, reversed back on top of hit, got out to take a picture, drove the truck off of it and commenced vaping with it. that is pretty impressive durability for a vaporizer. So i guess the short answer to your question is yes it is deffinantly more durable than the pax or divinci which are just housed in metal sleeves not made of solid pieces of metal. I guess the fact that it is the smallest portable convection vape on the market is just a bonus when it comes to portability ;) Also no buttons and instant hits sounds like it could be pretty stealthy to me :ninja:

The price is high but I'm gonna run through the original thread one more time to make up my mind. I am even willing to sacrifice my special, one and only Vapman and even Milaana to get a stealthy, durable and tasty cloud producing tool! I am all for sustainability and things that break easily and I can't fix them or upgrade them myself don't fall in this category. So at the time it's between Dan's next vape and ESV 2 I guess.

Damn! Ti bombproof Vapcap has spoiled me!

Yes it is an expensive tool and to be honnest I would be unable to afford it if there was an amazing 50% off deal at Vapornation!

I hope Joe will offer an upgrade program for all previous ESV owner, not for free and if it's doable (IDK how similar the units are about internals).

My unit is working like a charm and even the Milaana was unable to steal its first place as "on demand" vapes. I only noticed a slight decrease about battery performance.

Milaana. Lana. LANA. LANAAAA! (TM2/TP80/BAK/FW9)
Yeah the Elevape probably is still the most instant on demand vape, even moreso than DaisyBricks' torch? Maybe you dont get as much vapor quite as fast though

Some of the smoothest cool hits ever too, definitely super durable, tiny super portable (if a bit bulky). An impressive design worth the money, I would like to try the 2 someday... Battery life was fine on mine, finicky in some other ways that I'm not sure the 2 improved on, but when you peruse the 1 thread you'll see I was an am a big fan overall

Mine is also the most I've paid for a vape and I got it at a discount too (only cloud evo was more and I dont have it anymore... I guess HI too just bc of the fancy wood and stems I got), it's been a long time since I've used it now though I don't think I'd ever sell it

Not many vapes are great at taking a drop, it's always hit or miss though, Elevape certainty is one of the tippy tops, especially if the metric is merely still functional (by the way Zion also had a truck run over it lol) Hopefully the 2 is able to catch on better, this vape deserves a wider audience. Looking forward to new owners

The ESV2 is super tough. I've never dropped it, but it's built like a tank. It's really, really, easy to clean and maintain too.

For people who prefer convection, I don't see how any other vape can beat it. It definitely conserves on the herb too. I recommend the bottlecap lid screen method, you can do a search on here and they explain and show a picture. It's worked great for me.

I didn't have an OG, so I don't know what the battery life was on that unit, but I hit my 2.0 steadily all day long and the battery hasn't run out of charge before I'm ready to plug it in overnight. I use it at high temps too, I'm a cloud chaser. Because of that I also added an additional screen between the heating coil and the herb, it was burning my herb above the coil and that seemed to fix that problem.

The other thing I really like about it is that the body of the unit never gets more than nice and warm. I have a PAX og and that thing gets HOT. I honestly don't see how you can go wrong getting an ESV2.

Sorry if I missed it but what exactly makes the 2.0 different from the original? Is this the Indica / Ipuff collaboration o2? Can anyone post some pics on the differences? Thanks everyone, loved the original EVS but I got tired of messing around with it, trying to get consistent results, hope this one is better...?

Hey @Just Justin - sorry for replying so late, too busy on all ends and this one slipped my attention. I had probs with a screw and literally screwed my Allen Key... Can't offer you pics from under the hood right now - but don't expect all features to be visible on a pic Battery runtime has improved biiig time e.g. - really impressed by that.
About pics, maybe someone could chime in? I know we have gotten some more 2.0 owners in the meantime... :) :brow:

I'm still diggin' mine - it's just getting better. Out and about is great - and even at home I toke conveniently nice and tasty instant clouds...

I never had an OG but I've seen the pics, I can't see any difference in look except the 2.0 lazered on the top of the unit. All other changes must be invisible.

My battery life is excellent so I have to assume that's an upgrade. I hit it all day, throughout the day and the battery lasts until I put it on the charger for the night.

I don't think any other unit can be cleaned so thoroughly so easily. I don't vape away from home much, but this unit would be perfect for stealthy use.

I have times where it works soooo good I can hardly believe it, and then I have times where I can't get a cloud without having burnt, black herb. BUT, I honestly believe that is because I am a cloud chaser. If you are into convection and taste and all the things vaping should be about, this unit isn't finicky at all. MY issues are just that, MY issues. I've learned that for me to get toasted, I have to use a conduction unit. So for me, I use this unit during the day for my medication needs and for that late evening high I want, I hit a convection unit for a few hits and I'm all good.

For anyone who wants taste and a true convection buzz or medication session, I don't see how any other unit can come close to this one.

I am honeymooning with my 2.0 right now and it's going great! Out of the box it worked very well, then I plugged it in and set up my temps and now it's heavenly. This vape is capable of nice clouds but I think it shines in getting you the most from your material, especially taste wise. You can pack such small loads, like literally crumbs and you can get 6 plus hits no problem, the taste is unmatched by any vape and the effects are damn heavy. The clouds are not huge when using the ESV like this but there is visual vapor every hit. If you need to get huge clouds on your exhale each hit this is possible but the load will go quickly, if you enjoy lower temp vapor you can get a TINY amount to last you for a good session and the vape gets me very medicated. This thing is going to cut my consumption down a lot.. I will be posting more about the improvements and also just sharing my experience with the vape after more use. So far I'm loving it and my Milaana and FW3 have been put in a drawer. This vape is just to easy and effective. I mean it's INSTANT convection, ready to go at your fingertips and it works great. If you like to get the most flavor and effect from the smallest amount of material this one is for you.
Stay vaped :peace::leaf:

Actually, there are more differences - admittedly under the hood. There's holes drilled around the coil as well as matching carves transporting the air stream to the chamber.. I think there's a pic over at the 1.0 thread.

I have times where it works soooo good I can hardly believe it, and then I have times where I can't get a cloud without having burnt, black herb.
Do you use different strains or does the moisture vary?
Also, make sure the bottom screen is free from particles so your draw is sensed correctly without flickering.. Had that once and it was the only time I got a darker parts.
I find, if I draw a bit harder than I used to, I'm getting fantastic results, constantly. Using the stir lid lately - working pretty well.

I've learned that for me to get toasted, I have to use a conduction unit. So for me, I use this unit during the day for my medication needs and for that late evening high I want, I hit a convection unit for a few hits and I'm all good.
You mean you need a conduction unit to get that "stoney" feeling? If so, you definitely can get that with the ESV too... What slider settings do you use? I put the "3" on 16 and it slammed me pretty hard putting me to bed quickly. And you could go up to 30 (~ 450°F).. :) Again, it depends on the material.

There are pics of the new laser drills on the ESV original thread, see: @DeltaGunner

Definitely a nuanced and highly personal vaping experience with 'on demand'. Breath is everything

BTW, PuffItUp has og units and various wooden mouthpieces :)

@DeltaGunner - what is the piece of material that is blocking the hole below the coil? It used to be an exposed hole on the original ESV which was a PITA because it would allow material to go through there and then you could never clean it out. Is the hole sealed now or can little bits of material still find its way down there?

Hola FC:
Any news on the final upgraded 2.0 version release??
end of the year coming, and I need to gift myself a new portable before it ends...
I see Milaana users at the OG thread and here too, and that is a good indication of good flavor and convection using, if people love Milaana as much as I do besides all the pros and "some cons", as far as I saw, this one seems way easier to use.
Things I'd love to see in this new model be, but probably will add to the size/shape/design of the 2.0, don't know if even possible without altering the little vape...
...Swappable batteries,
...BT connection will be smart,
...colors probably, I'm totally fine with black or stealth, dark blue too, my favorites, but I'm sure people will love colors...
...different mouthpiece angles, something even stealthier, or not that conventional, I know conventional is dumb bombproof but options never hurt,
...I'm sure if they can slap that BIG and IMO kind of breaking the aesthetics of the cool design of the ESV, that 2.0 can be personalized or better design probably, can they custom print something there?? I'd rather don't have the 2.0.
I'll probably cover it or paint it...
I'll think of more but I think that will be enough for me, some app improvement wouldn't hurt neither.
Hoping to have some good news soon...
I'm already signed up for vapornation stock alarm...
Stay vaped...

That's a good question......And how about all the new holes surrounding the coil? I'm sure material can fall through those holes as well and with the stirring, your definitely going to have material passing through the screen. Hope there's a way to easily clean that out or prevent it from collecting below the coil.

From what I know and can see on my 2.0 the new holes are not in the chamber they are in the air path. I don't really stir with mine either.. I mean I usually pack a small amount because I think this is where the elevape shines, but at the most I give the unit a good shake and it completely extracts everything.

Yes, the holes are surrounding the chamber - so no risk material could fall thru.

I do flip my ESV from time to time. It's a habit. I think you wouldn't need to - but it may depend on load size and grind. I use medium ground and don't have problems with particles passing the screens.

IIRC what Joe @Ipuffusa told me there's a temp probe installed within that grey stuff or sealed with it. As I said, I don't have experienced problems with particles passing the upper screens yet.. Just don't grind finely as you wouldn't do anyways as this is not a conduction vape and you should be good to go. :)
