So I'm posting up this pole to try and get a handle on the percentages of those who are having issues with abrand new product that has just been released versus no issues at all.

I'm not including the Air in this poll even though it is a new product and the reason is, is because it really is an evolution of an existing design rather than a brand new design.

In regards to issues (problems), please don't list a problem that could be user error or lack of technique or even personal opinions on how a particular vape could be made better.

What I'm really looking for are those problems and or issues that you are having that you feel should be addressed with updates or running changes from the manufacture to the initial product offering. This would include software bugs as we'll as hardware issues......defects if you will.

I really don't see a need for discussions in regards to these issues in this thread as I think that discussion would be better served in the specific thread of that vaporizer. This is just a poll to indicate the gamble that occurs with being an early adopter. If you want to personally state what the issue is if there is one, please do so.

My Crafty case broke where it connects to the cooling unit. This area could be a little beefier imho. Not sure if putting the cooling unit on backwards helped fatigue this area or not but S&B covered it under warranty.

No problems with Mighty so far, except I see a weak point possibly being the screen. It looks very easy to damage although so far mine is ok.

I am myself somewhat suspicious on how the plastic at the top of the unit where the cooling unit connects will last over time. The two pieces of plastic forming the outer shell of the main part of the Mighty join together at a point where the two black plastic tabs stick up to stop the cooling unit from being turned too far. I am concerned that turning the cooling unit a bit too far over and over in time may lead to breakage perhaps similar to T-Dub's description.

My unit showed an Err 04 when I first tried to use it. However, I held in the power button, switched it off, and then a few mins later switched it on again and it has worked perfectly for weeks now without skipping a beat.

I will say that the plastic has really impressed me by actually being seemingly vape safe and not melting/deforming/adding a taste in my unit. Especially after my experience with the PNP and my consequential short-term plastic vaping habit (yikes), this was surprising!

Warranty from the reseller I purchased my Mighty from is incredible, I know that if anything happens they'll replace my product or refund with no questions. Add to that the readily available replacement parts and you can really cut down on the amount of possible situations that could leave you unable to use the Mighty.

I can see how the Crafty, due to it's different and extra electronic components could have room for more potential issues. I am unsure as to the extent of this though, but hopefully the poll in this thread will help us get an idea :)

Nowhere :p because some people who can't draw hard enough to reset timer would be boosting instead of resetting the timer when they press the button lol

I see what you mean, you have a point. I think the compromise would be 2 boosts, 2nd boost for oils and solids. Also you can do without the app for stealth etc.

If USA isn't happy with update, then you could have a firmware update just for Europe.

Storz my prize?

@lwien from what I've seen on here, Storz should be giving out a few more prizes, as a lot of work is being done for them by members. Other manufactures give discounts for early adopting. Storz should be giving something back to its early adopters in Europe and the states

you forgot a boost for Southern hemisphere herb (shh), and another one for northern hemisphere herb (nhh).

three temp settings

I like the argument, @Storz were are solving your problems for you!! crafty forum wants PRIZES, ok so turn on for southern hemisphere, then first boost for northern hemisphere, then second boast for oils and solids.

Seriously, a second boost is needed for wax, oil, and solid. Also so you can have three temperature settings!

I have no idea how it happened. I have not forced nor cooling unit nor filling aid. I have not used the cooling unit backwards. I woke up, opened my crafty and a piece of plastic broke off just like that. Not even 5 hours of use at that point. My Crafty did fell of a table on wooden floor though once, about 50cm.

Works fine somehow, but I need to pay attention no to break the other side when unlocking.

I have a issue with the app losing connection after 2 or 3 consecutive bowls. And I cant charge the thing for 2-4 minutes.

I have contacted S&B to see if its a issue or just battery protection.

They have confirmed a bug, due to be fixed on next update.

First crafty died the first time I charged it while using. No problems with 2nd crafty, but I don't do that anymore.

Also app has not been updated to run on android 5.0 after quite some time.
 
What are you talking about? You keep mentioning prizes as if you are owed something.

You're not.

Personally I've had no issues with my Crafty so far. I have 27 hours on it so far. It even survived being dropped in a toilet around hour 3!

An option for a 3rd preset temp would be nice.

I think early adopters are 'owed' something buy the vape companies. We get the first batch and our customer feedback greatly influences developments. @Roth We just disagree that's all

That is why I stayed away from the crafty. I like the size much better than the mighty, but there are more variables for failure when using an app on your phone. The ease and simplicity of having the temp displayed plus the extra battery life pushed me to the mighty

I personally would like to see an update to make the shut off timer either longer or make the temp change smaller/more sensitive. I know most don't have this issue but I usually never draw enough to drop the temp to reset the shut off. I know I can press the buttons and that's what I do but it's annoying IMO. Just my :2c:

Also I have to agree with @Roth I feel in no way I'm owed anything. If the company chooses to give freebies and whatnot, like most do but it shouldn't be expected. IMO it just makes the company look better in my eyes. From other posts it sounds like they are taking care of customers with issues by sending goodies rather than ppl with perfect working units who just purchased early.

So they are giving back, in a way, to the early adopter by 'taking care' with freebees. The early adopter is much more likely to get a faulty unit (software/design/manufacture).

I think Arizer got it perfect with the air by dropping price for the first month.

Yes exactly, they're taking care the early customers inconvenienced first then maybe might say thanks to everyone else hopefully

There is still the inconvenience of having to post the unit, also the inconvenience of being without the unit. Do they take care of this?

I'm not looking for a discussion (per first post) if you want have one we could take it up in the crafty or mighty thread.

I'll leave it at this, my unit is perfect I can't comment on that from experience. Others have, I'd reccomed checking their posts.

Let's try not to derail and flood this thread. Sorry for being a part of that lol

Companies like S & B and Arizer have already budgeted their time and resources
on R & D , before they release their products . Which may count for less complaints
and issues overall .

Having said that , I still prefer to wait for V2 or V3 of any
vape , so they can work out any teething issues they may
encounter . And that is where user/field testing input is
of importance . ( but Not warranted of any freebies )

These are V1 issues I'm listing . ( and may have been fixed )

PNP - melting mp

Ascent - hinge on swinging door kills the wiring after time .
- LED display/temp doesn't reflect true temp and/or
not working , screen scratched up .

Firefly - Coil misalignment causing " some " to Not function
properly .

Elevape - Their apps didn't work for everyone to set the ESV
- also minor screen alignment .


Haze- Some lids were not fitting on properly when closed .
- their stem mp get stuck in the storage part due to resin
build up .

Air - apparently it shuts off after a few sessions when it gets too Hot .
Not necessarily a deal breaker for me .

There are a few more I like to hear about from other members .

As mentioned , there is always a risk with electronics and being
an early adopter . That is why , I like to ' Follow ' a thread 1st .
Before making my purchase , it usually takes a while .

How long does a vape need to be out before it is no longer considered new? I will no longer be a part of beta testing or any of that again but I felt with the mighty waiting a month or so after full release I saw enough users give it the thumbs up to buy. I did the same thing with the Cera, that didn't work out so well in the long run even though it is a great vape.
