Dynavap mod based heater

Beast arrived today

I've only used it twice, but so far I'm really liking it. I tired it out at 42 watts at first with 13 seconds cruise. Little too toasty not sure why I had it at 42 instead of 40.

Second round was 40watts my cap clicked at the exact moment my second 13second cycle finished. This time I left vapcap in the beast when I hit it and I got 2 incredibly large hits, it was beautiful. I think my favourite first hit of a vapcap to date. So satisfying I didn't even finish what was left.

@Easywider glad you liked the Beast. The 13 second cycles are my favorite. I'm always surprised at how big the clouds are

I had to grind some cbd greens to keep testing. Bowl 4 finished with 71% battery life.

I think you've nailed it with the 40w and 13seconds. It's the perfect ratio of vapour production to taste. Nice fluffy clouds and tasty flavour all the way through. Perfect looking abv.

Waiting for the click resulted in massive clouds and less flavour with only 2 heating cycles to kill a bowl. Almost black abv. I often use my vapcap like this when it's night night time so this is great. Right to the edge but no further.

Got my Econo Beast a few days ago and it's amazing! The coils inside mine were actually too small for my Dynavap so I had the VapCap get stuck inside the Beast a few times.

I opened it up and adjusted the coils to be wider and higher so it heats higher on the cap -- so far, so good! I'll try to make a video review in the near future.

@sauerkraut glad you got it fixed. Good to know there was an issue. I'll watch that more closely

I have a theory on why my cap was getting stuck in the Beast.

Looks like DynaVap has a new VapCap with a larger crimped section -- which is the one I was using. The crimped area was what was getting stuck inside the Beast:

If you have the new caps, you can probably test and debunk this.

I was readjusting the coils a bit more and stripped the socket screw for the coil. What screw/size is it so I can find a replacement?

How many watts were you using and was the BEAST on the entire time?

Give it a watch with sound on, very entertaining and @paytonpenn explains what’s going on in the background. He explains it better but the beast starts at 40w and goes down to 20w over 12seconds. He starts hitting it around 18 seconds and keeps hitting it with the beast on at 20w until the click.

I received my wenge Beast a couple of weeks ago.
It delivers constant results with different types of ttips (1x old school ttip, 1x green anodized ttip and 1x latest gen ttip).
I used the Beast almost exclusively in 40w 13sec cycles.
It produces really nice clouds of tasty vapor...
I hope this thing will last for a long time!

Same here, I got mine yesterday on black friday. I've been loving this thing over just the torch, and it makes it so I can finally kind of abandon the Pax 3 I've been using for pure vapcap use.

I can usually roast a bowl easy in 3 heat-ups using 44w for roughly 25s cycles each. The first and third hits are occasionally wispy, and the second hit is usually an enormous hit. The atty does get a little hot when you are chain vaping (I count 5-6 heatups back to back as chain vaping) and I have a 510 heatsink on the way to remedy that.

I do want to know why you caution against vaping while the dynavap is in the chamber, @mistvaporizer

My setup is currently a stock aegis legend on variable wattage, 2 HG2 18650's, the beast, with a 2017 vapcap.

Basically I feel it is too easy to combust if you inhale while the dv is in place.
Also i didn't design it for in place inhales and haven't considered what issues need to be dealt with for that application.
Glad you are enjoying the Beast

Been working on this for a while. The electrode on the left is a new style. The base and threaded tube are one piece. The old style was two pieces silver soldered together. This cuts down manufacture time without sacrificing quality. I'm eliminating the gold plating. With these changes the price comes down to $100. There are 4 units in wenge and 3 in purple heart in the store now.

I just wandered into this thread and started reading page 1. @mistvaporizer - consider a polished (electro-polished on the ID) a stainless steel sleeve on the OD of the coil. Heat reflects from mirrors just like light does (heat is light).

Actually there is a stainless steel tube that surrounds the coils for exactly the purpose of reflecting the heat back to the vapcap.

I tested the 30A battery a sony murata, 2800 mah I think.
It lasted for at least 15 heating cycles, I tested four beast builds and ran at least 4 cycles or 15 sec with each.
The high amps really help to power the Beast.
Did some low watt testing and 35 watts for 15 seconds gives some fine vapor (you need a full cycle to heat soak the vc). @Shit Snacks you would like this, no carb, smooth vapor, huge clouds.
Straw brown abv, the Beast is kicking it.
There are 2 alphas and 5 betas out there and so far the feedback is great. If everyone else is happy I'll announce a pre order for about 25 units.
