At first I was excited when I got nice sticky bud. but then I started thinking that why would Herb be any different than regular cooking herb in that when its dry it doesn't loose its potency and lasts longer. We all know the "killers" to organic materials are: light, heat, moisture. so why would Herb be different? I began drying it out and storing it in stainless containers with spring loaded plungers to keep it packed down and expel as much air as possible. also use a silca gel pack in the container.

I got a dehydrator for use in the kitchen and recently dried my Herb in it. it turned out great! nice and dry and smelling very potent. potent in the vape too!

Is there any reason against drying Herb?

It grinds much better once it is dried out. So, no reason I am against drying herb

You do lose some of the great taste when the herb is super dry.

A nice drying and curing is at the bottom of great tasting buds. You obviously don't want extra dry material, there's always a sweet spot of moisture to have i your bud. The secret is make it lose moisture as slow and steady as possible. A quick dry is not good, herb must be cured, slowly and with care, for best taste and results

The general consensus for drying bud is chop plant and hang dry until the stems snap when bent... so pretty dry. Then, as smokey said, for maximum potency and flavor the herb should be cured slowly over time by burping mason jars loosely filled with buds.

If youre buying your stuff wet you should tell your guy you'll pay him for whatever the bag weighs once it dries out

I trim up the buds and hang to dry for 3 to 4 days.
Test by bending a stem, it should snap.
Once at that stage they go into mason jars and are burped a few times a day.
After about a week of that i put a hygrometer in the jar.

I like to keep the humidity at anywhere from 55 to 60%.
Once it is stabilized i will vacuum seal the jars using a hand held pump and store them in a box in a cool, dry part of the basement.

My bud is never crispy dry, has some moisture in it but not enough to cause mold to grow.
Lately i have been vaping 6 month old bud and it is still as potent as the first time!

In vacuum with oxygen absorbers works for me but your medicine must not be cut early, or dried or cured improperly. Some of whats left from this pic has been in vacuum for over 9 months and its just getting better and better . . .

Since I discovered the humidipaks, I just dry my crop for 2-3 days so the stems crack but not completely break and then I just put them in 5lt mason jars with a couple of humidipaks. No vacuum... They keep the moisture at about 62% and my buds are grinded amazingly well in my SCS and also the aromas of each grind after 8 months are just mind-blowing! It gets better and better as time goes by, like old wine! All other weeds I happened to come around just couldn't compare in potency, aromas and flavor...

May also try a few CVaults to test them out.

I agree with a careful trim, dry and cure your bud just gets better and better!

I should mention that prior to consumption I remove my medicine from vacuum to a CVault, with 62% Humidipak, in the fridge. I consider the 2 storage environments to be mutually exclusive.

I really have good luck with blimpies. You just have to keep an eye on your load to make sure it doesn't over moisten (giggidy).
