it's kinda odd as to how much good can come from a well placed snide remark or the persistent striving for perfection of assholeism .
Nah it was probably more me
It was me, Gwello. Don't fucking argue with me.

See there you go ... you made me crack a smileIt was me, Gwello. Don't fucking argue with me.
I gave you a like, and so did a couple of other members here,I was sooooo happy until I read this thread. Fuck you guys.............
I agree with this. I haven't seen a stale or uninsightful post come from you yet lwien! Keep it up! (no pressure)@lwien, You have some great pieces of advice for the members here. I really enjoy your words of wisdom. You are a wise old owl and have a way of cutting through crap and getting down to point. A lot of folks can learn from your years of experience.
I got in a few arguments my first week here as well, took some adjusting to the overwhelmingly awesome vibes here. Me and dorkus got worked up at each other and I got a warning for cursing him out lol. Good guy though, also an acquired taste..Nah it was probably more me It took me a while to get used to the vibe of this forum. I am a somewhat angry and confrontational person at times and sometimes I 'm just as asshole. I'm also quite crude at times so I think I got a few people offside when I first started posting. Strangely I now love the vibe of FC and actually appreciate the way it is moderated (most of the time).
Some of the people I like the most in this world are people who I initially clashed with or even downright hated.I agree with this. I haven't seen a stale or uninsightful post come from you yet lwien! Keep it up! (no pressure)

Yes because for those two people to overcome their initial difference; they have to experience more intricacies of a true relationship and of their own ability to be open than most people bother to experience in a lifetime ! hahSome of the people I like the most in this world are people who I initially clashed with or even downright hated.
Amen to every paragraph :-)My life feels more fulfilling to me when I'm helping others. Not to sound Pollyanna. I like to do things for myself too, so I'm selfish just like the next person. If you're able to get outside and walk that simple thing can help with depression. Sometimes you have to dig down deep inside to change your life around. Sometimes reaching out to others. They don't have to be your family members.
Meaning for one person could be different for someone else. Meaning is in the eye of the beholder. You may mean a lot to someone that you don't realize?
Music helps my mood. I love to sing.
PermaFrost cannabis is suppose to help with depression if you have that in your area. I have used it. It's good stuff.
EDIT
IMO the simple things in life is what it's all about. It doesn't have to be huge. A wiggle of your dog's tail when you walk in the door and him jumping all over you because he's so happy. Your life means something to that dog. Sometimes it's easy to wallow in self pity. I don't know your situation, so it might be easy for me to say? I haven't walked a mile in your shoes?
Our lives are pretty easy compared to those living in war torn third world counties. Sometimes being thankful for what you have.
I've had a near death experience where I accepted the thought that everything was going to end. Ever since that day, I'm grateful for every day of meaningless life. I do not believe my life has meaning, and I relish in the existential nothingness - because I smile & laugh every day! Don't always get what you want, but I always get what I need.If so, what is it? And how do you know?
Is the meaning of life to have no meaning? Are we simply here to "fart around," as Kurt Vonnegut suggests?
I'm a Service Desk analyst too! Hi, you've reached blah blah, how can I help you?Amen to every paragraph :-)
I work an IT Support HelpDesk, which a lot of people think would be terrible - but helping people on a day-to-day basis does make life much, much more fulfilling. The more I get to practice the Golden Rule, or even the sexier Platinum Rule, the better life is.
Now, fulfilling is one thing. Meaning is another.

You don't need to be a fireman to hear things like "You seriously saved the day!", "You're our hero/savior!". It's even more fulfilling as a internal support helpdesk, because you're on the same team as your users. Everyone's working towards a common goal of success.I'm a Service Desk analyst too! Hi, you've reached blah blah, how can I help you?
Great job for just chilling out and mindlessly assisting people! Some customers make it all worth it, others just approach with the wrong attitude and we laugh at those people and their frustration ! hah
George Carlin had a pretty unique view on the meaning of life. Honestly, I've felt the same as him ever since I was a kid.
"I'm here for the entertainment."

When I am approached aggressively and rudely on a perfect sunshiny day by someone who is calling the wrong area, with the wrong tone, with the wrong attitude, it brings a smile to my face. When I'm frustrated I calm myself down, when these people are frustrated they call us up to abuse us, so yeah we have a good laughYou laugh at people's frustration?
Perhaps then we should not expect empathy from the service desk analyst. It is most fortunate for one who is able to calm oneself down when frustrated and angry, and most unfortunate for those who aren't. To smile at one's own fortune is one thing; to smile at another's misfortune is quite another. I can only wonder if there is something lacking in the career & life coping mechanism of laughing at others. When I am approached aggressively and rudely on a perfect sunshiny day by someone who is calling the wrong area, with the wrong tone, with the wrong attitude, it brings a smile to my face. I see where you are coming from, and eventually I will retain a peaceful and patient nature for every customer, but as a team here we band together for these things to support each other. Some analysts come out of calls shaken and distraught from abuse, and this is supposed to be a professional organization where every staff member is valued and respected. There are some recurring customers where we know what to expect and can adjust our responses to them accordingly without stepping on their toes, and other customers will be fine until they find out that a WOMAN just offerered them help (and they are from countries where women are pieces of shit) and then begin to emotionally break down the poor girls who only want to help.Perhaps then we should not expect empathy from the service desk analyst. Why? The negativity doesn't effect me on a level that would push me to leave the job. I read a lot of stuff about how to deal with difficult customers, it's a slow process to develop communication skills sometimes but I'm working on it. Enough about me and my job, go away you two! lolSounds like you need a career change.
I would wager that, typically, such stance within the bounds of one's job likely extends beyond those bounds into other areas of personal & public interactions. I could cite many cases on point demonstrated on these very forum threads, and one in particular. Some of us have just learned to crack a smile at these people, but it still isn't the best emotional response.. With time I will be zen enough for these fuckers..

Don't have to make it a personal attack, Snappo. I'm detached from my ego, you are welcome to fill me in and be open so that I can better myself and my vibrations through this world.I would wager that, typically, such stance within the bounds of one's job likely extends beyond those bounds into other areas of personal & public interactions. Please note that I qualified my statements with the word "typically", which takes aim at the general public. However, if a shoe fits I have no objection. I offer constructive criticisms for anyone who will have them.Don't have to make it a personal attack, Snappo. You are right, acting that way in the confines of a job indicates that I would also do so in other social situations, and I can imagine many moments in the last week where someone has attacked me verbally and I have laughed it off as a defense mechanism but it hasn't yielded the best outcome.
If that's 'nuff said' then I guess thanks for having enough input to put me in the spotlight but not enough to help a fellow man. I'm not perfect, but I would like to improve. Cheers.
Yeah I can admit that it applies to me, strongly in fact. It's been a key theme of the last few days and the universe is bringing it to my attention so that I may overcome it and learn from it. If you have any more insights always feel free to inbox me. Regardless of your annoyance at my attitude on these forum threads, apparently one in particular.. You can always help further ones spiritual path to betterment so if you have the time, let me know and I'll listen. I respect your opinion. Please note that I qualified my statements with the word "typically", which takes aim at the general public. However, if a shoe fits I have no objection.

Thanks for that Snappo, I enjoyed our chat and I feel refreshed from the weight that was lifted off my chest upon confronting my wrongdoings from the Cory Glass Design thread
