Pulled mine out and heating it up and smelling the ceramic heating unit I think this thing is putting off a funky smell if one puts their nose to it and pays attention?

Not a massive smell but definitely a smell that doesn't seem like something I want to be breathing in?

The only odor besides vapor aroma I've ever noticed from my EQ is the smell of what I'm pretty sure is the heater. It is not a strong nor particularly offensive odor to me and it doesn't linger. I typically don't notice it at all but once in a while I do pick up the scent. My little counter top heater fan in the bathroom has a similar odor of hot heater elements. I'm inclined to just not worry about it, but if you've got some real icky funk going on and not just a bit of heater smell, I encourage you to keep trying to track it down.
