It's hard for me to notice small differences in the quality of a high. I can sense the day time effect of most sativas and the sleepiness of indicas, but not the subtle differences between strains or type of cannabis. This is hard to explain.
Now flavor is different. I do notice intensity of flavor and broad differences such as citrus vs berry vs earthy, but not this type of berry vs that type of berry, etc.
I like the flavor of the first 2 hits of flower, but then the taste becomes roasted too quickly regardless of the type of vape. Over time I have found flower to be messy to work with. Concentrates have made the vaping experience cleaner for me and my "stuff". For me concentrates retain a strain's flavor longer during a session.
Of all the concentrates I've been using, I find my rosins to have the strongest flavor, closest in essence to the flavor of the herb it was produced from. This would be compared to the shatters, waxes, sauces and CO2 oils I've tried in the past. I started pressing rosin for the fun, the flavor, and the knowledge of what is in my concentrates.
I am also no expert in the field. Just a humble civic disobedient.
