Dear Yocan fans,
Yocan would like to ask you, do you want to have a pass through function on your vaporizer? Please tell us your thoughts.

If by “pass through”, you specifically mean being able to use a battery operated vaporizer while the internal battery needs to be recharged as it hits the low voltage cutoff determined by the power management setting (3-3.2 volts approx.)

In my personal use case, NO.
I like to use my wireless battery operated devices, as designed. If I forget to charge it, my fault.
Fortunately for me, I have others, most have swappable batteries, or if at home, a desktop, wall powered.
I can understand that some value this feature, but I’ve never had to use it. I’m sure many may disagree, but that’s my own opinion.

You’re welcome!

If the batteries are replaceable, I don’t care much since I charge them externally anyway. But I love pass through charging for devices with non replaceable batteries. The possibility to use them while charging is super convenient as I don’t have to be too strict with my charging schedule when on the go. Also when the battery is dead after years, the device can still be used plugged in.

To me there’s no reason not to include this useful feature. I love it at my Solo 3 and miss it at my Venty.

I liked it when I only had one device. Now I just put the weak one on the charger, and pick up another, or change the battery. I honestly like rapid charge compatibility a lot more.

when you are trying to vape on a device tied to that short cord, it is real inconvenient. At least here on FuckCombustion everyone seems to have like 20 devices they can choose from while your other one is charging. (well not me but i still have more than 1)

This is not true, at least with Solo3, and most others, it is not pass through charging... It is just use while charging, yes, and it will deplete the life cycle of the batteries faster... If the battery is dead for years, dead at all, it cannot still be used plugged in... It needs to battery charge to function (true pass through would completely bypass the battery, the old solo used to have an optional PA plug kit to do so, this is actually an extremely rare feature for most vapes these days)

Good to know, thanks. What a bummer. So I vote for REAL pass through charging then. I know the fake pass through from a (expensive) Bluetooth speaker I‘ve had - half a year of plug in use ruined the battery. This is more like a bug than a feature. Is this planned obsolescence?
