DIY Water Pipe Ideas/Discussion

I've been vaping for quite some time and I have noticed that the hot vapor is pretty harsh on the throat and sometimes the lungs so I have been looking for ways to cool the vapor, as well as dissolve some of the ammonia that has been detected in noticeable concentration in most vaporizers (basic solutions are harsh on the lungs) . I currently own a da vinci ascent, and operate it around 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

I was thinking about trying to make a water attachment (all the retail options are too expensive) and was looking for help with a small water pipe design. I have only ever used a water pipe once and did not get a good chance to look at it for design ideas. It definitely would have to be made of a reliable materiel (no plastic bottles, etc).

I welcome any ideas/brainstorming as I'm sure assembling a good guide would help a lot of people! Some pics below of ideas/parts

Some Designs like this run up to 120$!

This is a charging station and stem holder someone designed however, the bottom of the ascent is open to allow air flow so i figured this design could be altered into a small air tight water tank where you can inhale through a stem on the side/front.

I appreciate any of your thoughts on how to build this thing! I was thinking make it out of glass or a temperature resistant plastic (silicone?) not sure what other materials would be safe.
I know that it is very easy to get a temperature resistant bag (like turkey bags used in baking) which could also be incorporated.

Also all of your ideas are welcome!

Lol, actually my charging stand isn't a super tight fit, I added some additional tolerance for slight differences between 3D printers. If I'm not mistaken, @Glass004 is using his Ascent charging dock as an upright base to hold his Ascent + PNWT while he uses it - haven't heard any complaints about restriction to air flow.

However, that charging dock is fully parametric. If you desire additional venting, that can be VERY easily arranged

In regards to the WPA - if you're handy with wood and have a drill press/lathe, you could possibly make a similar part out of wood (similar to what @Ed's TnT offers).

Also note, there is a whole huge thread dedicated to cheap high quality bubblers. You can purchase a Pinnacle Water Tube knockoff for $21 from one of my favorite sellers - SunshineStore

For what it's worth - I have this piece - and I rarely use it - I don't enjoy craning my neck to hit a waterpipe - especially when I can get a bent-kneck bubbler for a similar price which is more compatible with all my vaporizers:

(One thing to remember about waterpipes - more diffusion (bubbles) is good for smoking, and bad for vaporizers - you don't need a super complicated multi-chamber piece to enjoy vaporizing through water, unlike combustion!)
