Many of the LPs (licensed producers) in Canada use unrecognizable names for their strains. I don't know why this is – surely nobody owns a trademark on, say, "Jack Herer" or "Grandaddy Purple."
Here is a helpful list which states the genetics and traditional strain names of LP cannabis available in Canada:

For example, Jack Herer is sold under the names "Sunday Special" and "Gather" by two LPs on the list (so far).
