Is dhgate worth it. Has anyone bought anything off there what is it Chinese knock off stuff
DHgate itself is just a website for vendors to sell their wares on. Think of it like a chinese wholesale ebay. Some vendors just allow people to buy individual units, sometimes there's a minimum buy of 2 at a time in the case of small adapters and things like that. Most of these vendors are alright, and there's a fairly good collection of names and vendors you can browse in the china glass thread, of vendors who sell good glass. Sunshine Store comes to mind, I've personally used them several times on DHgate and was never disappointed. The glass was always as described, functioned well, and was sufficiently thick, and it was always cheap. I paid $40 for a rig that would have gone for at least $100 even in my cheapest local headshop. Granted it took three weeks to get here, but that's what you expect when you're getting free shipping on a slow boat from china. What's funny is that it actually usually moves through China fairly quickly, and transit doesn't take too long either. Once you see it hit US customs, and subsequently USPS, that's when the real waiting game begins, but it just takes time.
As for it being knock off glass, some of it is, but they're the same exact pieces you mostly find in local headshops, who usually order from DHgate, or a similar platform. Sometimes they have crappy logos on them, but so do the ones at the headshop. I personally prefer my glass without anything on it at all, so I prefer import glass because it's usually at least available in an unmarked option.
Edit: Also on topic, has anyone found an orbiter on DHgate, even if it's free standing on it's own?
