DaVinci IQ2 & IQ3

Nah, you made a good choice. For portable, it's still one of my faves. If you clean often, maintence is low.
Cleaning is just one of those disciplines. Just have to do it.

Despite all the complaints, I think comparable to my Pax2. Just nice form factor. A little chunky but so is the Pax2.

Doesn't appear to be a lot of love for this device. I have a medium tolerance. The chamber, although some may consider large, is a perfect size for me. My only complaint is that the unit turns off too soon. Not a big deal but a small PITA. Really liking the IQ2 !!

Agreed not too many people seem to love it. It's been a while since I've used mine, I gotta change that.

I find the chamber large, but it was my first vape and I didnt really understand how vapes work. VAS kicked in pretty quick for me I started buying more and learning more about vapes, but I haven't taken the time to go back to the IQ2 with my new knowledge/upgraded equipment (got a real grinder for instance). I was probably doing some things wrong like probably way over-packing, but yeah I'm looking forward to getting back into the IQ2 after I'm done with my other experiments.

Well, I am absolutely delighted, to the point that I have put my Crafty+ up for sale.

I love this gadget, the balance it has overall, how it consumes the material and how well regulated it is. I think it works much better than the original IQ or miqro, the new elongated oven makes a difference.

It still has some shortcomings like not having usb-c or the hinges that although have been improved they also still seem very weak. If you open the device while it is hot, they end up gaining slack and the magnet malfunctions so the camera opens while you are using it. It is something that I have seen in this model and in the miqro, I don't know if the same thing is happening to you. I had to return my first IQ2; luckily I bought it on Amazon and I had no problems. I live in Europe and I'm scared when I have to do RMA to EEUU

I think it's a bit delicate in general, but if you use it with care I think it offers one of the best vaping experiences on the market. Excellent flavor, power and cold vapor. However I wouldn't use it as daily driver

Have any of you tried the vape press for this model or the old one? I was thinking of buying one, I don't like the performance of the ceramic capsules. By the way I have also ordered one of the zyyde leather sleeves; I contacted them directly on their website, they are having supply problems with the official davinci website and made me a 2x1 offer; I chose the black one and the brown (my IQ2 is grey):D:D

I was in the same so gave it some time this week. Its sufficient, and wouldn't have any other way. VAS will say one of each anyway so it has a good place here. I use the ceramic pods so lot less material but I get some nice flavor.

Dante... - Mine is too new to experience the problems you mentioned. I don't charge the battery while inside the device. A decent external charger is inexpensive and has served me well.

Shop... - I haven't used the ceramic dosing pods as I like a full chamber. Does the pod have any negative affect on the draw, taste, etc.?

@Bazinga haven't tried using without. I use dosing capsules with my Crafty+ and Mighty. The loading tray is awesome.

There is no loading tray for the Davinci pods so it sucks, but I like its kind of clean. Herb does spill out a bit. I get a good amount of vapor so I guess I am microdosing with the reduced size.

I'll probably continue to use them out of convenience. My line up at home are Dynavaps plus Sticky Bricks. If I carry and go my Crafty+, then Mighty gets to finish the dosing capsules.

I do wish there was a better way of loading those Davinci pods. Was thinking of maybe getting a block of wood and drilling holes big enough to fit them with a smaller one on the other end to poke them back out.

I also use the dosing capsules in my Mighty. So far, it seems that the ceramic oven in the IQ2 stays cleaner that the oven in the Mighty. With the dosing capsules the Mighty oven is much cleaner than using it without. I'm not sure the .2 gram capacity of the IQ2 dosing capsule would suffice for me.

@Bazinga I don't know either. Purchased all of that stuff in advance so will try that. I am not happy how flimsy the pearl is, so ordered a spare. Not sure if it will break off eventually.

The piece is a bit warm and they do sell that leather sleeve for it too.

Do you use the WPA or the flat mouthpiece?

I use the IQ 10MM adapter. I guess that is designed as a WPA. I fully load the chamber and have not adjusted the pearl. May have to order a spare.

Yes, I use an external charger, I meant to open it with the chamber still hot. By the way in my case in the IQ2 I experienced these problems after only 3 days of use but maybe my unit was defective.

I have tried it with pods and without them and the pods do not work at all badly but the generation of vapor decreases and especially the duration of the session. With pods I can get 5 or 6 good hits which for the amount of grass is fine, but with my dynavaps I can get much higher yields with the same amount of material. Pods are fine for microdosing but I prefer the higher performance and duration the vape press offers (it's also a cheaper method than the pods). In the crafty + I used the capsules but in this one the difference in performance was smaller.

In the davinci I always use it with the long mouthpiece, the flat one seems unusable, both here and on the pax3, the hot aluminum burns my lips

Although the pearl has actually improved, it still seems quite delicate, I have not touched it at the moment and I have also bought a spare

As soon as I get the sleeve I will tell you how it works, indeed the vaporizer heats up a lot, it is something that has always bothered me about the davincis but I understand that it is their mode of operation, aluminum works as a heatsink. On the older models the silicone cover did a good job, I hope the leather works just as well; in the photos it looks quite thick and elegant

Do you have any recommendations for a daily driver?

Of course, but in this forum that would be an eternal debate

I can tell you mine, in my case my daily driver are always my dynavaps, especially with the new wave of handheld induction heaters that are on the way, but there are many interesting devices like the Firewood 7, Crafty+, etc

I think that a primary device has to always be hard and resistant, something that offers a lot of vapor and is valid for most situations. Then there are the more 'chic' models that have interesting special characteristics such as this one or the Tinymight for example

Are you currently using an induction heater? The Dynavap looks interesting but I don't want to use a torch.

Yes, I now have a DIY induction heater and am on the waiting list for the Fluxer Deluxe. Although the Orion looks very good, I will surely buy it:razz:

Honestly, I like the torch; I'm not saying it's better when heating, I just love the ritual. At first I thought the same as you, if it weren't for the IHs I would surely not have entered the dynaverse, but now I love the lighter. Many times even when I am at home and have the IH handy I like to relax and spin the vapcap

But returning to the topic of IQ2, I found the mentioned idea for the filling tray emulating the one from S&B very interesting, maybe in @Delta3DStudios could think something about it🤔🤔

If that excited would be so much a better experience. The ceramic are kind of narrow so haven't figured out the best way to load them up quick.

The covers arrived; finally with shipping and customs €100 :doh:

But the cover certainly looks high quality. I like the brown color, it has that worn touch that gives it a more classic look, I love it.

It fits perfectly and doesn't move up and down like the old silicone covers but the most important, it works very well at cooling, I have tried it during a couple of long sessions (more than 30 ') and the vaporizer has not felt uncomfortable in the hand like sometimes happened when using it without the cover

As soon as the vapepress arrives I will update you with the news :brow:
