DaVinci Ascent Vape, lungs are tight, help?

So i recently bought a davinci ascent portable vaporizer since smoking bothers my lungs (I have asthma) and I've used a pax multiple times and it didnt bother me. I'm assuming its because the vapor seems hotter in the davinci, the heat must be irritating my lungs? I've tried multiple temperatures between 365-390 and a half hour or so after my chest gets tight. Nothing awful but it isn't pleasant.

Does anyone know of any ways to make the vapor cooler without buying like a water pipe and all that? I'm not really looking to invest any more money in this. Maybe I could rap something around the glass tube you inhale to make it colder. Or hold the vapor in my mouth to let it cool down for a few seconds?

I heard of putting a few drops of water in the vape every now and then when using it to add some water content into the vapor, any thoughts on this ?

I had a ascent when they were first released, i returned it because i found the silicone around the heater to be off-gassing, perhaps your lungs might not like whatever gasses are being released from the vape itself, just a thought.

Water and electronics don't mix well together .
But I've heard of members adding a damp piece of cotton at the end of their Solo glass stems to add moisture to their hits . Also you may want to use 100 % organic cotton .

But , I don't think that's why your lungs are tight tho .
It could be some foreign substances getting into your lungs .
Try heating the empty Ascent in a dark room with one lamp on ,
and see if there is off gassing coming out of the grills or any
other places .

Try holding an icecube in your mouth while vaping ... lol.. I swear i've heard people doing this.. otherwise.. you can make yourself a bong/bubbler.. cheap and easy.. just search the net for ideas.. a bottle.. and some silicon tubing from aquarium shop ..

I thought the Pax was really harsh compared to the Ascent. Maybe you need to send the unit back and get another one, it could be running too hot. The temp gage could be off.

I wouldn't want to use something that made me feel like that. I hate the feeling when I can't breathe well.

Well Conduction has always been rougher on the lungs for me.. Convection is only harsher to people sensitive to aroma and react like a cat to a lemon when they smell...

all good ideas, thanks guys. Has anyone tried the cotton thing? Also wouldn't sending vapor through a bubbler lose alot of thc? Vapor should condense when cooled. Then again thc is a hydrophobic oil right so maybe it wouldn't want to condense in water

Exhaling vapor trough water condenses some of your oil but you may reclaim.. The benefit is that it can give you the opportunity to hold hits for longer time being less harsh due to filtration and prolonged airpath.. which will result in increase of efficiency ... For me i consider a hit wasted.. if you choke on it and blow it 2-3 secs after you pull because you can't get hold to it... so Filtration is a friend of efficiency but also can make you crave for larger hits .. because of the less irritation..

You could try the ascent water tool adapter, it has more mass and cools the vapor better than the short straw (as well as providing a better seal and improving the draw)
