David Goldstein's Fritted Disc

Ok so I officially have Pappy Glass Syndrome, or whatever we call the glass version of VAS around these parts.

Just had to get one of these bad boys after seeing the stacking, after using the mobius disc percs i really enjoy how they hit and i've seen these fritted discs around and while they are a lot of diffusion I still think it'd be a great addition to my family!

Here's a video of their pieces in action:

I grabbed the Full Size 17'' tube from NVS Glassworks for 350 + 22 shipping, the DI Tubes are only 250, while the DI mini"can style" rigs they have are 290.

Full Size (comes with a 24mm male joint that will fit an 18mm nail, as well as an adapter to 18mm female as well as a female slide; also included are 4 fritted filters for combustion, the little disc sitting in the adapter):

DI 18mm 17"" tube (comes with vapor globe 18mm)

DI 18mm mini (can style)

Did you mean "DG" instead of "DI"? The NVS website only shows "DG" models. Seems like a fair price and stacks like mad. Now I think I have to order the mini can style .

Wow, I have never seen a piece stack like that. Have you tried it yet?

DG means "David Goldstein", thats the name of the guy who makes the pieces.
when I said DI I was describing the piece and meant direct inject, like a male joint you can stick the nail straight in. The pieces are called DG Fritted Discs though.

I haven't gotten to try it yet, the one I ordered should arrive wednesday or thursday so I'll let you know!

Wow, what a beautiful video to go along with some gorgeous glass. I've already watched this video 3 times, lol. If I had one I would probably just sit there and dry hit it just to watch the bubbles.

I see they went with male joints too, is this the new trend? I sure hope not.

I was excited to see a female to female gong piece, but then I read its 24mm to 18mm, , crap.

Yea I don't imagine it being too difficult if you vape or use oil on them. I can imagine if you tried to combust without the "fritted screen" in the adapter it would get really dirty quickly. It prolly just takes a little more elbow grease. One thing I'm not sure of is how much i'll like his patent pending decals, hopefully they are easy to get off if they are an eyesore.

Someone mentioned it was just crushed up glass, melted together. That's what it looks like to me, a sponge.

Haha, I have a custom bowl done by Seb from Herborizer with a fritted glass screen exactly like that! I actually posted it in the customized vapes topic, I'll try to find it!
I have seen that piece before and was attracted by the technique and the looks but as a french guy, the rooster was too much for me!

Yea I'm hoping to be able to take off the rooster if It is too ugly, but I kinda have been digging it a bit... we'll see.

I contacted NVS Glassworks last Friday and Josh was very quick and helpful in describing the types of DG's he had available and even told me about the colored discs he had. The rasta coloring on my disc didn't cost any extra so with Fedex ground shipping it was 350 + 22.00 so 372 (This is for the full size with 24mm male joint, 24mm female to 18mm female adapter, 4 fritted screens and an 18mm male bowl to go in the adapter for combustion).

I originally called and asked him if he could get it shipped out that day and he said if I ordered and payed by 3:30 pm PST he'd have it sent out that day. I called him back a bit later and he did have it sent out by 3:30 really quickly with tracking # and everything. He does ask to send a picture of your ID to confirm your age when you order since it is over the phone (said you only need to do it once), but he let me send it to his phone with a picture message which made the process quick and easy. Good guy to do business with IMO.

And wow some of those photos are amazing. the bubbles photos blow me away completely!

I guess the idea has been around for a while. I saw a patent for a "Fritted Disk" that was like 60+ years old or so.

Yea from what I gather the fritted disc function idea is from some other scientific area of expertise requiring filtration, I believe he just took the idea and put it in a bong, with amazing results!
