So wow, it may be a testament to the product's efficacy in getting me reliably vaked, but I can't believe I haven't made a thread here for these since I've had one for ages now!
Ok, so many may have seen the sapphire inserts D-nail sell for some of their titanium/sic nails.
Being like $50 for a tiny disc of sapphire, you might wonder to yourself is this worth it?
In my opinion, if you use compatible titanium or SiC - yes!
I have an infiniti for my d-nail with a flat coil. I never use it because I hate ti for enails and I have a deep dish banger quartz nail too. However, when I bought my infiniti (incidentally through d-nail) they offered me a decent discount on the sapphire disc with it. It took me a while to realize (tbh until the SiC dish science page got uploaded on the d-nail website) that when I saw the temp measurements on the dish vs on the dial charts, it finally clicked that when using sapphire, you need to jack the temperature up a solid 50-80c to make the sapphire vaporize your dab quickly enough to not run onto the titanium underneath and ruin the taste.
Now, here is where sapphire shines (pun intended):
Usually, even on stupidly expensive quartz nails; you'll find that your dab tastes amazing at first but that the end of the hit tastes awful, because by then the terps have been degraded and are not tasty anymore.
With sapphire, the dregs of the end of the hit taste almost as good as the start! I can't believe how good the dab tastes from start to finish!
The flavor is just somehow further in the foreground of the dab (that's the best way I can describe it right now).
You're not meant to torch this but jacking up the temp on the dnail super high will clean it nicely (I do like 490c) and iso for any residual.
Will contribute some videos with the infiniti and the SiC dish in the not too distant future in this thread
