D-Nail Quartz Lotus

Sorry, you seem to have wandered into the middle of a sidetrack. I have already mentioned inverted and the origins, the distraction here is a BMG fanboy who takes every possible opportunity to bag on D-Nail/VGW and proclaim that “maybe” one day you too can level up to some BMG gear…who is actually coming in here trying to pretend that BMG is going to innovate dry herb vaping apparently
Every possible opportunity to bag on D-Nail/VGW? IIRC, I actually started the Universal Heater thread. And love that device. Far preferable to Terp Sous Vide (which BMG sells in addition to their quartz), due to the size, quality of build and quiet operation.

It is OK to like some products from a company and have concerns about others. And it's not like I am suggesting that there are D-Nail shady business practices or things like them spying on employee bathrooms, etc. that should lead consumers to avoid their products.

Wow, I was being sarcastic, are you actually saying that BMG is just straight up copying?
As I've said before, I just mention BMG as an alternative glass design that gets around the issue of balls expanding enough to break glass. While they are still prototyping, they have posted IG reels like this, and hardly copying any Dnail/PB/VGW design (that's the whole point): https://www.instagram.com/reel/DDfHAHRdyp8u/?igsh=MXF2MmQ2MW5lZmVzbg==

And ultimately, my original posts were just thinking thru the reasons why these multiple breakages could be occurring, as well as alternative designs that could still enable use of Universal Heater with an all glass vapor pathways.

And I'll leave it at that, since there's not a lot else to say, and my posts are just leading to attacks, sarcasm and name calling from @Timps27.

What a bummer. What note did they pack in?

(I don't have the quartz topper but I'm not sure if that would have any impact on this issue)
They got back to me about mine breaking. I had mine packed with all shinju beads on the bottom and quartz on the top. They recommend all quartz on the bottom. They threw some $ on my account and I'm about to order another full set with a boro bowl to compare to my quartz, but this time i am going to try a quartz only pack.

when mine broke it was ramping up from a cold start along with a cold Uni heater. I normally put it in when the Uni is up to temp fully - does anyone smarter than me know if this matters? hopefully the pack will sort out my issues

If anything, ramping them both up together should minimize a temp shock. I suspect there was a weak spot in your bowl and it wasn't necessarily due to the balls expanding. For one thing, the quartz bowl's bottom would expand greater than the balls and the other point would be the spheres would (should?) "roll" upward instead of outward since that would have been the path of least resistance. It could have just been a one-time fluke...hopefully that's the case.

Like I said earlier, my use was cut off relatively early but I do still have some things left. Maybe I'll go ahead and finish up before my surgery next month. If so, I'll repack mine with quartz on the bottom but that's not a particularly convincing resolution: in so far as the balls expand (and I'm not convinced it's by much) they wouldn't do so at the same rate as the bowl just because they're the same material (because they're a different shape/size).
