I'm digging the wire wrapped texture too, don't think I've seen that texture colored though. That ring looks awesome flush against the mouth piece like that. Very classy.

One XL stem ( 79 mm = 62 mm stem tube + 17 mm stem mouthpiece ) ,twister knurled and "steel blue " anodized .
Made of Titanium Grade 2 / CP2 .
Mouthpiece uses 3x DV standard o-rings to attach to the stem tube .

Hey my man! I had some time in hospital where I could look but not post so I went back and read your thread. It’s rather amazing how long you’ve been doing this and how on the other hand, it doesn’t seem that long at all. I guess that’s what they call “growing old”, lol! So in looking back, a question occurred to me and I confess beforehand that my motivation is selfish! I’m finally ready to take a spot in the queue.
In all of your experimenting with the textures you can create, have you put one texture on top of another? I wonder what it would look like to make the hammered or tree bark texture first, and then the wire wrapped texture on top? I would think the wire wrapping wouldn’t need to be as dense or it would just obliterate the base texture. I’m also a big fan of having 2 or 3 of the smooth rings at each end, always seems to make the centre textures “pop” out more. Anyway, based on all your experience does this hair-brained idea of mine have any merit? Or is it simply Stoned-on-a-Sunday bullshit?!

Yeah, I thought so. Just “too much” of everything, including two processes! That’s no good. Maybe play on a bit of scrap, but you’re busy enough with RL and proper stems for paying customers anxiously awaiting them.
I’m glad I went back in the SDS evolution, many of the textures you first made are still very appealing. To me at least! I’m not going back looking at your earlier works in the VC thread, that rabbit hole is too deep.
