Considering what has happened this morning, we are closer to this than we have EVER been.

Considering how many years the embargo has been around I stand by my statement.

And it is for that very reason that I am hopeful. It's been in effect for decades and has not improved ANYTHING on ANY level.

Obama moves to restore relations with Cuba

Headline above has link to article. Interesting point is embargo can't be lifted without Congress but looks like the prez will use exec action to get partially there.

I am a big Cuban cigar enthusiast and have mixed feelings. On one hand, it would be great to be able to buy them in the US. On the other, there's always been the question about whether quality would go down if production ramped up to serve the U.S. market.

Beyond cigars though... its the right thing to do.

Funny how these old enemy states turn out to be not so threatening after a certain number of decades. Vietnam for instance.

No.

But.......I love cuban food. I love their music. Love their cigars. And I've seen pics and vids of their beaches and those old, old American cars that they keep on fixing to keep running. I don't think that there's another place on earth that has that kind of car collection going on.
